The wait is over! Fortnite’s Squid Grounds map is coming to Reload mode on June 27th, 2025. If you love Squid Game, you’re going to have a blast with this one. The New Fortnite x Squid Grounds Season in Reload Mode
The Squid Grounds Map brings the Squid Game world right into Fortnite. You’ll see those familiar playground games, but with a battle royale twist. The map has staged town sets that look exactly like what you saw on Netflix. Additionally, there’s this massive underground labyrinth that goes under the whole island. It is a colorful giant maze where you can hide, fight, and find loot. You can watch and see more details on the new Reload map in the trailer below:
The map features three main POIs that you should know about:
- The Labyrinth – An underground maze that offers many hiding spots and loot, but be careful! It’s easy to get lost or trapped by enemies here.
- Red Greens – where the Red Light Green Light action happens. This area gives you that authentic Squid Game feel, but remember that other players won’t stop shooting just because you’re playing the game.
- Square Meals – This one rounds out the main locations. While we don’t have all the details yet, this spot likely offers good loot and strategic positioning.
Map Rotation Schedule
Here’s what you need to know about when you can play Squid Grounds:
- June 27-30: Squid Grounds will be the only map available in Reload.
- June 30 at 7 AM ET: Map rotation returns, and Squid Grounds joins the regular pool.
- Oasis map: Gets temporarily removed but will return later.
This means you’ll have a full weekend to learn every corner of the new map without any distractions.

The Red-Eye Submachine Gun is brand new and should be great for those close fights in the labyrinth. SMGs are perfect when you’re fighting in tight spaces. There’s also a new Boogie Bomb that’s an Uncommon rarity. If you’ve never used one before, it makes enemies dance, and they can’t shoot or build. Super useful for breaking up team fights. Last but not least, you can loot an Itemized Glider Redeploy. This means that now you can redeploy your glider as a regular item, giving you more mobility options.
All your favorite weapons are still here too: Pump Shotgun, Assault Rifle, Heavy Sniper, Rocket Launcher, and more. Plus, you’ll still find Jetpacks, Grapplers, and Shockwave Grenades!
Your Rank Gets Reset in Fortnite x Squid Grounds Season
With the Squid Grounds launch, everyone’s rank gets wiped clean. However, you don’t need to worry because your new starting rank depends on where you finished the current period. You’ll need to play one match to see your new rank:
- Play one Ranked Reload match to unlock your standard rank.
- Play one Ranked Reload Zero Build match to unlock your Zero Build rank.
If you’re brand new to Fortnite, you have to complete a quest first: Outlast 500 opponents. It sounds like a lot, but it goes by pretty quickly when you’re playing regularly.

During launch weekend, you can earn free cosmetics just by watching Fortnite streams:
