The Auction House is one of the most useful systems in Forza Horizon 6 and one that a surprising number of players never fully engage with. It is the only way to trade cars with other players in the game, which makes it important both for clearing out vehicles you do not need and for tracking down cars unavailable elsewhere. Whether you are trying to make money or hunt down something specific for your garage, understanding how the Auction House works in Forza Horizon 6 will save you a lot of time and credits.

How to Access the Auction House

You need to be at one of the Player houses or festival sites to use the Auction House. After that, from the main menu, navigate to Buy and Sell and select Auction House from there.

How to Buy Cars at the Auction House

Once you are inside the Auction House, select Search Auction to browse what other players currently have listed. You can filter results by car name, class, manufacturer, and other criteria to narrow things down quickly. Especially useful if you are looking for something specific rather than just browsing.

Each listing will show you two prices. The current bid is the amount the auction is sitting at right now, and the buyout price is a flat fee that lets you skip the bidding process entirely and buy the car immediately. If you find something you want and the buyout price is reasonable, using it is almost always the smarter move since it removes the risk of being outbid at the last second.

To place a bid or buy a car, here is how the process works:

  1. Open the Auction House and select Search Auction
  2. Use the filters to search
  3. Find the listing you want and check both the current bid and buyout price
  4. Select Buyout to purchase immediately, or place a Bid to enter the auction
  5. If bidding, return close to the auction end time to place a final bid and reduce the chance of being outbid

A few things worth knowing before you buy anything. Rare or limited cars tend to get listed at significantly higher prices than their Auto Show value, so it helps to have a sense of what something is actually worth before committing. Searching for multiple listings of the same car and comparing prices takes thirty seconds and can save you hundreds of thousands of credits.

How to Sell Cars at the Auction House

To list a car for sale, go to Auction House and select Start Auction. From there, pick any car from your garage that you want to sell and follow these steps:

  1. Select Start Auction from the Auction House menu
  2. Choose the car from your garage that you want to list
  3. Select Auction Car to proceed to the pricing screen
  4. Set your starting bid, buyout price, and auction length
  5. Confirm the listing and wait for buyers to find it

Getting the pricing right is the part most people struggle with. Set it too high, and nobody bids, and the car comes back to your garage unsold. Set it too low, and you leave a lot of credits on the table. The best approach is to search for the same car in the Auction House before listing yours and see what other players are currently asking. Match or slightly undercut those prices for common cars, and you should find a buyer without much trouble. For rarer vehicles, you have more room to push the price up since demand holds even at higher amounts.
