Picking your first car in Forza Horizon 6 matters more than you think. The car you choose at the start will carry you through the early races and wristband events. Here's a breakdown of every starter car in Forza Horizon 6 so you can pick the right one for how you like to drive.

Forza Horizon 6 Best Starter Car in the Prologue

When you first boot up Forza Horizon 6 and land in Japan, you'll meet Mei before the game hands you your very first choice. Three cars are on the table, and they all feel very different to drive. So which one should you pick?

1. Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205

Forza Horizon 6 Starter Car

The Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 is the most balanced starter car you can choose in the Prologue, and I do feel like most players will feel comfortable using it right away. It’s a legendary racing car, and Forza Horizon 6 does a great job with it.

Its acceleration is impressive. If you enjoy sprint races and circuit events, the Celica is one of the best starter picks because it performs well in almost every situation.

2. Nissan Silvia K'S

The Nissan Silvia K'S is a different kind of starter car. It isn’t as fast as the Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 when it comes to speed and acceleration, but when it comes to drifting, this is the best one to pick. It slides smoothly and feels great to use in Drift Zones and Skill Chains.

If you like to earn Skill Points and find good drift lines around corners, you can start with the Silvia. It fits that playstyle better than the other Prologue cars in Forza Horizon 6.

2. GMC Jimmy

Forza Horizon 6 Starter Car

If you go purely by numbers, the GMC Jimmy wins. Its overall stats are top-notch, especially for the acceleration and off-road stats. It beats the other two cars. However, the early part of Forza Horizon 6 takes place on the streets of Tokyo. An off-road SUV isn't really ideal for those tight city turns.

So, even though Jimmy has better stats on paper, it can feel harder to use in early races. Still, if you prefer SUVs or want to focus on off-road events later in the game, it's still a great choice.

Other Car Packs:

Forza Horizon 6 Best Starter Car in Horizon Events

Once you finish the Prologue, the first Forza Invitational event opens up. Clear it, and you get to pick a second car as your reward. This selection is separate from your Prologue pick, and it's just as important.

1. Toyota GR86

Forza Horizon 6 Starter Car

The Toyota GR86 is the well-rounded pick of this group, much like the Celica before it. This car is already great without needing much setup. If you liked how the Celica felt and want something that works across almost every early race, the GR86 is the natural follow-up.

2. RAM 1500 TRX

The RAM 1500 TRX is a purpose-built off-road machine. It's at its best on dirt tracks and mud-heavy terrain, and it handles those surfaces better than either of the other two cars in this group. Pick this one if off-road events are your focus, especially if you skipped the GMC Jimmy in the Prologue.

3. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR TM Edition

Forza Horizon 6 Starter Car

The Mitsubishi Evo GSR TM Edition is a high-skill car, similar to the Silvia. It rewards smooth, precise driving, especially through corners where timing matters. It's more technical than the GR86, but when you're driving it right, it feels exceptional. Fans of the Evo 8 from Tokyo Drift will feel right at home driving this one.

You can't really go wrong with any of these cars lying in your garage, but knowing what each one does best saves you a lot of trial and error. For the best general starting cars, start with the Toyota Celica in the Prologue, then grab the GR86, and you'll have a strong foundation for the rest of your Horizon journey. Once you're comfortable, try the other cars too. You might find a new favorite.
