If you are sitting on a car you no longer need and want to pass it along to a friend, Forza Horizon 6 does not make it straightforward. No button lets you directly send a vehicle to your friend's garage (increase garage space), which is a bit frustrating, honestly, especially when you have duplicates collecting dust in your garage (customization guide). That said, there is a workaround through the Auction House that gets the job done, as long as you and your friend are both ready to move quickly. In this guide, I will explain to you how to gift cars to friends in FH6.
It is also worth noting that Forza Horizon 5 had a Gift Drop feature that let players send cars (Italian Passion or Electric) to random community members. We are currently confirming whether a similar option exists in Forza Horizon 6, and we will update this article as soon as we have more information.
How to Send a Car to a Friend Using the Auction House
This method works, but it requires timing and a bit of coordination between both of you beforehand. Here is how to do it:
- Decide on which car is being transferred and agree on a minimum buyout price ahead of time so your friend does not overpay.
- Both of you open the Auction House at the same time and stay in communication, whether that is a voice call or a text chat running alongside the game.
- The person sending the car lists it for auction with the buyout price set as low as possible.
- The moment the car goes live, the person receiving it immediately searches for it by name and applies filters to narrow down the results fast.
- Once the listing appears, hit the buyout button immediately without hesitating.
The reason speed matters here is that the Auction House is public. Any other player browsing at that moment can see the listing and snipe it, especially if the buyout price looks like a deal. The lower you set the price to make it easy for your friend, the more attractive it looks to everyone else, too. So treat the whole thing like a hand-off rather than a casual browse. However, this method is more of selling a car and less of gifting one.

What to Keep in Mind
Make sure the person receiving the car has enough credits ready to cover the buyout before the listing goes live. There is no time to scramble for funds once the car is up. Even a few seconds of delay can mean losing it to another player. If it does not work on the first try, do not worry. You can simply relist the car and try again. Just be aware that the same risk applies every time it goes up.
As mentioned above, we are still confirming whether Forza Horizon 6 includes a Gift Drop option similar to what was available in Forza Horizon 5. That feature allowed players to send cars to random people in the community, and if something similar exists here, it would make casual gifting much easier. We will update this guide once we have an exact answer. Also, check out our FH6 wiki for more guides.
