Japan gives you a lot of cars to work with in Forza Horizon 6, and not all of them are going to be worth keeping around. Some you will outgrow quickly, others you might have picked up to complete an event and never touch again. Whatever the reason, clearing out your garage (or just increasing space) is a good habit, and doing it through the Auction House means you actually make money in the process rather than just losing the car for nothing. In this FH6 guide, I will tell you exactly how to sell cars in Forza Horizon 6 and how to price them so that you make good profits.
How the Auction House Works in Forza Horizon 6
There is no instant sell button in Forza Horizon 6. You cannot offload a car to the game directly for a flat credit payout. The only way to sell is to put the vehicle up for other players to bid on in the Auction House, which means the final price depends on how much interest your listing generates.
This sounds more complicated than it is. Most cars move reasonably well as long as you price them sensibly, and rarer vehicles can bring in a serious amount of credits if you catch the right buyer at the right time. You can reach the Auction House using the fast travel option to any garage (customize garage guide) and selecting the Auction House menu after you are there.
How to List a Car for Sale in Forza Horizon 6
You do not need to be at a specific location to access the Auction House. It is not a physical place or a location.
- Head into the main menu.
- Go to Buy and Sell.
- Select Auction House.
- Choose Start Auction.
- Pick the car you want to list from your garage and confirm you want to put it up.
Once you select the car, you will need to set three things:
- starting bid price - this is where the bidding begins
- buyout price - flat amount a player can pay to skip the auction entirely and take the car immediately
- auction length - this can go up to 24 hours, so you have some flexibility depending on how quickly you want the car gone
After the listing goes live, you can check on it anytime by going back to Auction House and opening My Auctions.
How to Price Your Car in Forza Horizon 6
This is where a lot of people go wrong. Setting the price too high means nobody bids, and the car comes back to your garage unsold. Setting it too low means you leave credits on the table.
The best approach is to search the Auction House for the same car before you list yours. Look at what other players are asking for it and try to match or slightly undercut that. For common cars, you will need to be more competitive since supply is high. For limited or rare vehicles, you have more room to push the price up since demand tends to hold even at higher numbers.

One important thing to know: when your car sells, you get a notification to accept the credits. Do not ignore it. Any credits you do not collect within 60 days expire, so the sale essentially counts for nothing if you forget to follow up. For more guides like easter eggs and hidden items, check out our FH6 wiki.
