Forza Horizon 6 features Legend Island as the one area players cannot access immediately. Unlike the rest of the Japanese streets and regions in the game, which are available from the start, this island remains completely locked until it is unlocked through progression. This guide explains how to unlock Legend Island in Forza Horizon 6.
What Is Legend Island in Forza Horizon 6?
See the lone island in the southeast part of the Forza Horizon 6 map that you cannot fast travel to? That island is called Legend Island, and it serves as the final destination in your racing journey. While every other part of Japan (read our review) is freely explorable from day one, this island remains off-limits until you prove yourself as a true Horizon Legend.

This island is home to the Legend Island Circuit, the brand new Colossus event (which loops the entire Japan map on the freeway and is the longest Goliath-style race ever made), and the regular Goliath race itself. There are also several XP Bonus Boards scattered across the island that you can't grab until you unlock the island itself.
Legend Island itself isn't huge, and the scenery doesn't quite match the beauty of mainland Japan. What makes it worth the grind is the content packed inside, especially if you love R-class cars and long races.
How To Unlock Legend Island in Forza Horizon 6
The key to reaching Legend Island comes down to one thing - Wristband Progression. Forza Horizon 6 has two progression systems running side by side. The Horizon Festival path focuses on races and competitive events, while Discover Japan is the more chill side, filled with photography, food delivery, Touge Battles, and night street races.
Legend Island is tied exclusively to the Horizon Festival path, so every activity you do that shows an "H" icon contributes toward your wristbands.

There are seven wristbands in total, and Legend Island only opens up once you complete the final one, the Gold Wristband. Each wristband requires you to hit a certain point threshold, then complete a special Wristband Event. To unlock the Gold Wristband, you need a total of 32,500 points.
Once you finish the gold wristband event, you're officially a Horizon Legend, and the Legend Island unlocks for you to explore.
Tips to Reach Legend Island Faster in Forza Horizon 6
Getting to the gold wristband takes time, but there are smart ways to speed up the process:
1. Win Every Race You Enter
Winning matters the most. A first-place finish in a street race or cross-country event can give you up to 350 Horizon Life points, while finishing in third or fourth drops that number dramatically.
2. Smash Every XP Bonus Board You See
Each board hands you at least 30 Horizon Life points, and they're everywhere. Make a habit of stopping for them when you spot one on your map.
3. Filter the Map
You can press RB on Xbox or R1 on PlayStation when the map is open. This filter strips out everything except the recommended events that give you the most Wristband progression.
4. Save Delay Activities for Later
Some PR Stunts and events need R-class or X-class cars to max out. Don't do them with a slow car early on. Save them for when you've built a proper car, and you'll clear them in a single run.
5. Don't Skip PR Stunts and Use Rewind
Speed Traps, Drift Zones, and Speed Zones all feed your Wristband meter. Drift Zones are great because they don't need a super-fast car, just a car that slides well. If you mess them up, you can rewind instead of restarting. It saves a huge amount of time across a long play session.
6. Skip Discover Japan for Now
Photography, drift club challenges, food delivery, and Touge Battles are fun, but they only feed your Stamps, not your Wristbands. Come back to them after you've unlocked Legend Island.
Now that you know how to unlock Legend Island in Forza Horizon 6, it is time to rev up your cars and continue grinding through the Horizon Festival journey. For more guides, easter eggs, useful glitches, collectibles, and gameplay coverage, check out our complete Forza Horizon 6 wiki hub.Â
