Forza Horizon 6 launches on May 19th, 2026, and this time the series heads to Japan. If you’re planning to play on PC, it’s important to check if your system can handle the game. The latest info is that the requirements haven’t changed much from Forza Horizon 5. Below is the guide for Forza Horizon 6 platforms and system requirements.
Forza Horizon 6 Platforms
Forza Horizon 6 is coming to several platforms, but the availability differs for each one. Some players will get the game on day one, while others will have to wait a bit longer.

If you own a PC or an Xbox Series X/S, you are in luck. The game will be available on launch day for these consoles. You can even pre-order the game right now if you want to secure your copy. PlayStation 5 players will also get Forza Horizon 6, but they’ll have to wait longer than Xbox and PC players. It will only come sometime after the initial release.

Now, let’s break down what Microsoft says you need at a minimum to play Forza Horizon 6 on PC:

The requirements haven’t jumped up by much. Playground Games basically swapped out the older GPU models for newer ones that still get driver support. If you had a GTX 970 before, now you need a GTX 1650. If you had an RX 470, now it’s an RX 6500 XT. These are similar performance levels, just with updated driver support.
However, an SSD is now required. This is the first time the Forza series on PC has made this mandatory. Well, logically speaking, it is needed to run the beautiful display of Tokyo.
What About Recommended Specs?
Microsoft hasn’t officially announced recommended requirements yet, but based on the Xbox Series X hardware, you’d be looking at something like a Ryzen 5 3600 or i7-8700K with an RTX 2070 SUPER or RX 6700 for the best experience.
If you’ve got an Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5, you are ready to play. For PC, you kind of need a decent gaming PC from the last few years with 16GB of RAM and an SSD. If you do, then you should be fine. The game drops on May 19th, so you’ve got time to upgrade if needed.
