If you're looking into the Forza Horizon 6 pre-order, here's everything you need to know before you buy. The game is set in Japan, there are three editions to choose from, and depending on which one you pick, you could be playing four days before everyone else.

When Does Forza Horizon 6 Come Out?

Forza Horizon 6 launched today, for Xbox Series X|S and PC (Microsoft Store and Steam). If you get the Premium Edition, you get Early Access starting May 15, that's four days earlier than everyone else. To track exactly how much time is left before launch, check our countdown for the remaining days.

Forza Horizon 6 is also coming to PlayStation 5 later in 2026. If you're a PS5 player, you can already add it to your Wishlist on the PlayStation Store to get notified when it drops.

If you want to jump in as soon as Early Access or launch begins, you can also take a look at the Forza Horizon 6 preload guide for file size details and download steps.

Forza Horizon 6 Pre-Order Bonus: Free Ferrari J50

No matter which edition you buy, pre-ordering gets you a free car, which is a pre-tuned, exclusive Ferrari J50 that you can grab from the in-game Autoshow at launch. Ferrari only ever made 10 of these in real life, which were built to celebrate 50 years of Ferrari in Japan.

Forza Horizon 6 Pre-Order

You don't have to go Premium to get it. Even the Standard Edition pre-order comes with the J50.

Standard Edition

This is the base version. You will get the full game, but nothing extra. It starts at $59.99 and gets you into Japan's open world with 550+ cars to collect. You can buy any extra content as add-ons later if you decide you want more. A solid pick if you're not sure how much time you'll put into the game.

Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe Edition costs $99.99 adds the Car Pass and the Welcome Pack on top of the base game. The Car Pass gives you 30 extra cars drip-fed weekly from launch day. The Welcome Pack throws in 5 pre-tuned cars, a Car Voucher you can spend on any car in the Autoshow, and 3 clothing tickets for Common or Rare items. It's a pretty good jump up if you want a head start on your garage without going all the way to Premium.

Premium Edition

The Premium Edition costs $119.99, and it's literally the full package. On top of everything in Deluxe, you get:

  • 4 days of Early Access
  • VIP Membership:
    • Permanent 2x credit boost on race rewards
    • 3x exclusive Forza Edition cars
    • A weekly Super Wheelspin
    • Tokyo City House for free (other players have to buy it with in-game credits)
  • Time Attack Car Pack:
    • 8x cars built for mastering the Time Attack Circuits scattered across Japan

    • 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB4 Spider
    • 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm

What Is the Premium Upgrade?

If you already own the Standard or Deluxe Edition, or have the game through Game Pass, you can buy the Premium Upgrade separately. It gives you everything in the Premium Edition except the base game itself: Early Access, both expansions, VIP Membership, the Welcome Pack, Car Pass, Time Attack Car Pack, and the Italian Passion Car Pack.

This is the smartest route for Game Pass players who want more than just the base experience without buying the full Premium Edition outright.

Forza Horizon 6 on Game Pass

If you have Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, you can play Forza Horizon 6 from May 19 at no extra cost. Game Pass Ultimate covers Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. PC Game Pass covers PC and Cloud Gaming only.

You won't get Early Access or any of the extra content included in higher editions, but the full game is yours as part of your membership. If you want Early Access or the Premium extras, grab the Premium Upgrade on top of your subscription.

Which Edition Should You Buy?

It comes down to how committed you are:

  • Game Pass member: Play free from May 19. Add the Premium Upgrade if you want the extras.
  • Casual player: Standard Edition is fine. You're getting the full game.
  • Regular player: Deluxe is worth it for the Car Pass and Welcome Pack head start.
  • Forza hardcore fan: Premium Edition is the best deal. The 4-day head start, VIP 2x credits, and two expansions already included make it genuinely good value if you're going to play long-term.

No matter which edition you go with, just make sure you pre-order before May 19 to lock in that Ferrari J50. It's a free exclusive car with real-world significance, and you don't wanna miss it.

Before you play the game, it's also worth knowing that Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox Series X|S offers both Quality and Performance graphics modes, so you can decide which one suits your playstyle.
