Earlier today, Samsung announced that the One UI 7 stable update will start rolling out to some of its older phones, including the Galaxy S24 and S23 series, in April. Along with the update, the company is also bringing the new Audio Eraser feature from the Galaxy S25 to select devices.

What is Audio Eraser on One UI 7?

Audio Eraser is an AI-powered tool that helps remove background noise from videos. It can detect up to six different types of noise, such as voices, music, wind, nature, crowd and noise, allowing you to choose which sounds to keep and which to reduce. This makes it easier to clean up audio and focus on what’s important.

Using Audio Eraser is simple. Just open the Gallery app, select a video, and tap the AI icon in the bottom toolbar. The tool will analyze the audio and show you different background noises detected in the video. You can then adjust the intensity of each sound, reducing unwanted noise while keeping the important parts clear.

This feature requires you to log in with your Samsung account. The results may vary depending on the sounds present in the video. Sound detection accuracy can also differ based on the audio source and video quality.

Which Galaxy Devices Will Get Audio Eraser?

The feature is already available on the Galaxy S25 series and will now be rolled out to the Galaxy S24 lineup and select older devices. However, not all Samsung phones will receive it.

In its official press release, Samsung has confirmed the list of Galaxy devices that will get Audio Eraser with the One UI 7 update:

  • Galaxy S24 UItra
  • Galaxy S24 Plus
  • Galaxy S24
  • Galaxy S24 FE
  • Galaxy Z Fold6
  • Galaxy Z Flip6
  • Galaxy Tab S10 Series

For now, only these devices are confirmed to get Audio Eraser.

What About Other One UI 7 Features?

Even though Audio Eraser is limited to select devices, other One UI 7 features like Writing Assist, Call Transcripts, and Drawing Assist will be available on all phones getting the update in this rollout.

You’ll also get all the other improvements that come with One UI 7, including a refreshed notifications and quick settings panel, new icons, more home screen customization options, and features like Now Bar and Now Brief.

Plus, all the Galaxy AI features that were previously available will be included as well.

Will Older Samsung Phones Get Audio Eraser?

Samsung hasn’t confirmed whether Audio Eraser will be available on older models. This is likely because some AI features require specific hardware to function properly. We’ll have to wait and see if Samsung expands support for this feature in future updates.
