The Samsung Galaxy S25 series introduces a host of new features, including Now Brief, updated Gemini Live, Call Transcripts, and more. Among these is an upgraded Circle to Search feature that now comes with two new improvements: AI Overviews and an expansion of the items that Circle to Search can recognize.
This is the very same Circle to Search that Samsung debuted with its Galaxy S24 series last year. This time was the perfect opportunity for Google and Samsung to collaboratively upgrade the feature. The new upgrades, while beginning to roll out with the S25, aren’t exclusive to these phones and will become available on other supported phones soon.
1. AI Overviews for Visual Search

Circle to Search now offers AI Overviews, displaying AI-generated summaries for various items, including places like restaurants and landmarks, images of products, and objects you encounter in daily life. Previously, it only provided Google search results, but now it offers a concise summary that answers key questions about the circled item, along with links to relevant websites and articles.
You might have already seen AI Overviews on Google Search, where they appear at the top of the results page, summarizing information from multiple sources. The AI Overview in Circle to Search is currently available only in English.
2. One-Tap Actions

Circle to Search was mostly Google Lens on steroids. But now it gets one-tap actions. Circle to Search automatically recognizes phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs on the screen. It then provides a one-tap button for immediate action.
For example, if it detects a phone number, it will display a one-tap button to call that number. Similarly, it provides one-tap actions for emailing an address or visiting a website. You no longer have to circle or manually select the information, nor do you need to switch between apps.
The Upgraded Circle to Search is For Everyone!
Both new Circle to Search features — AI Overviews and One Tap Actions — are coming to all phones that support the feature. This means if your phone already has Circle to Search, it should receive these new upgrades starting with the Galaxy S25. However, this is a phased rollout, and it may take some time to arrive on your Android device.
