A brand new NPC has shown up in Garden Horizons, and she’s giving us some really fun quests to do. Her name is Maya, she is a botanist, and she’s got some great rewards waiting for you if you are willing to help her out. This is the Garden Horizons Botanist NPC quest guide, to show you everything about her quests, where to find her, and what you can get from completing them.

Where to Find Maya in Garden Horizons
Finding Maya is not hard. She is sitting just near the fountain where all the other shops are. If you know where Molly NPC’s Gear Shop is, just look right next to it, and you will spot Maya there. Once you talk to her, she will explain what she needs. To check exactly what she’s asking for, just pick the third dialogue option when chatting with her. That’s the one that asks what she needs.

Garden Horizons Botanist NPC Quest Guide
So, Maya is an NPC who works for a company called IGMA, and she’s out here collecting mutated plants for research. Your job is to bring her mutated plants that weigh around one to two kilograms. Now, you can’t just bring any mutated plant you have lying around. She only accepts the specific mutations she’s currently looking for, so always check what she needs before going off to collect.
The mutations she asks for seem to change depending on who’s playing. Some players have been asked to bring a Foggy mutation, while others have had to hunt down Snowy, Chilled, or Soaked variants.

So don’t be surprised if your quest looks a little different from what your friends are doing. Because for me, I need to submit 0.80kg of Starstruck mutated plants first. These mutated plants can be obtained whenever there is a weather event happening in the game.
Garden Horizons Botanist NPC Quest Rewards
Once you finish Maya’s quest, she hands you a special IGMA Seed Pack. This pack drops unique seeds that you can grow in your garden, and some of them are pretty rare. Here is a full breakdown of everything that can come out of it:
| Seed | Drop Rate |
|---|---|
| Biohazard Melon | 54% |
| Lablush Berry | 30% |
| Starvine | 12% |
| Radiant Petal | 3.5% |
| Octobranch | 0.5% |
The Biohazard Melon is your most likely drop at 54%, so chances are good you’ll land that one on your first try. The Lablush Berry at 30% is also fairly common. After that, Starvine sits at 12%, which is doable but not guaranteed. The real prizes are the Radiant Petal at 3.5% and the incredibly rare Octobranch at just 0.5%. You might need to complete Maya’s quest multiple times if you’re hunting for those two.
My tip for you is that try to always talk to Maya first before heading out to farm mutations. There is no point in collecting the wrong thing. Once you know what mutation she needs, you can focus on harvesting those specific ones and not selling them to Steve NPC.
