Chrome Dino

You can find tons of easter eggs and creative ways Google makes internet surfing interesting. One such easter egg is the Google Chrome Dino (T-rex) game which pops up when you try to open a website and don’t have an active internet connection.

Chrome Dinosaur is all about infinite running gameplay where you jump over and dodge obstacles with basic up/down arrows. As Google would put it, you have a T-Rex to keep you occupied while the internet is down, however, if you got bored with the original game, there are tons of mods that you can try. So without further ado, here are the best Google Chrome dino game alternatives in 2020. Let’s jump right in.

There are also several Google Dino game hacks that you can try. They will add more spice to an already addictive game with new features and crazy weapons.

6 Best Chrome Dino Game Alternatives in 2020

1. Original Chrome Dino Game

As I said, you get to the dino game page when the internet is down or you must have already tried the airplane mode to get the game to work. Frankly, you don’t need to pull up any such tricks as there is an easy way out. All you have to do is visit this webpage or just type chrome://dino in the address bar. Once the page opens,  press the spacebar to start the game.  The rest of the gameplay remains the same.

2. Dino Swords

Dino Sword is developed by 100 Thieves and Internet collective MSCHF and has transformed a simple-looking 2D game into a t-rex on steroids (quite literally). Rather than the basic jump and dodge controls, you get granular weapons that can be used to cut through the obstacles, so you save yourself from boring spacebar hits all the time.

You get 26 weapons in total that can be activated using the keys on your keyboard. To give you an insight on weapons, you have a downer pill that slows the gameplay down, a portal that lets you create a portal at the start and end of obstacles, and many more.

3. Dinosaur Bot

If you’re starting out with the game or frustrated that you can’t make a high score, this one might be an easy way out. Call it a modded game or a hack, but it allows you to switch between the two game modes. The first being the normal one which ends the game as soon as you collide with an obstacle. The second is the bot mode, which once enabled, automatically makes the t-rex jump and move ahead in the game.

The best part about this mod is that you can enable or disable bot mode anytime during the gameplay. So you know what to do when someone’s looking.

4. 3D T-Rex

Unlike the original game which is in 2D, you get to see a Minecraft style pixelated 3D version of the t-rex game. Since it’s based on the original code, you still have to dodge cacti by bending or jumping over. However, the 3D game makes it way more appealing and fun when compared to the monotonous color scheme of the original game. The developer has also added custom background music and bounce sounds which you may or may not like, but it makes the gameplay a bit more intense.

The only downside to this game is that you need an active internet connection.

5. Chrome Color Dino Extension (Pop-up)

This Google Chrome extension gives you a color dino game as a pop-up screen on any webpage. This way, when you’re feeling bored and wish to pass time or even try your luck at making a high score, you can tap on the extension icon and play in a small pop-up window at the top right corner of the browser.

You can also enable it in a private window, provided you enable it in the extension settings first. This also gives you several added themes like hacker, sonic, and Mario.

6. Avatar Jumping Game

If you loved the pop-up Chrome extension I suggested above and want to experiment with more avatars, this one is a must-try. You can choose from four themes, help Batman to save the city, or choose joker if you like. Other themes include classic Mario, light, and dark night mode for the T-rex game.

Although you have the Facebook and Twitter share buttons, they are still in test mode and are not likely to work. But you can still try if you fetch a high score. Here’s is another game that allows you to change the theme to naruto, Godzilla, etc. You can also type in your name to rank in the high scorer’s list.

Closing Remarks: Chrome Dino Game Alternatives

So here were a few Google Chrome dinosaur game alternatives which I play frequently. If you ask me, I like playing the 3D version, which has a nice UI, unlike the original game. When I want to show off my high-score, I simply let the bot play and share the screenshot with my friends. Hope you also try all of these games. Do comment about your favorite one below.
