  • Google Photos now highlights the album where the photo is saved while viewing.
  • This will allow you to easily see more images from the same album.
  • The feature is available in Google Photo’s version 7.11 rolled out and available to both Android and iOS.

Google Photos has added a useful new feature that makes it easier to see which albums your photos and videos belong to. Previously, figuring out which album a specific picture or video was saved was a chore. But now, with this latest update, album details are also integrated into the photo and video info section.

How Does the Feature Work?

When you view a photo or video in Google Photos, swiping up or tapping the three-dot menu will reveal the media’s information. Google Photos now includes an Albums section, which will show you the albums that the selected media belongs to.

Note that you will see only three albums in the Photos app. so if the media is part of more than one album, a Show More option lets you view the entire list. Tapping on any album name takes you directly to that album making it easier to navigate through your photo collection.

Imagine you are scrolling through your old pictures and you stumble upon a photo from a memorable trip. You may want to relive those moments and see more photos from the same trip, but they’re scattered across your library, mixed with countless others. It can be a tiring task to locate them one by one if you don’t remember which album they are saved.

Google Photos makes it quick to find the album where the picture is stored. So you don’t need to scroll through hundreds of images and videos. Just click on the album info and relive your memories.

Overall, this is a great addition to the Google Photos app as this can be a useful feature for many of the people who capture and store a lot of memories.
