The new Fairy event update brings a new mutation called the Glimmering mutation. This shiny new mutation can make your plants look amazing, but it usually shows up randomly on any plant. Now you can actually trigger the mutation for whichever crop you choose using the Fairy Targeter. How to Get Fairy Targeter in Grow a Garden
The only way to get a Fairy Targeter from the Fairy Event update is through the Wishing Well tasks. You will find the new Fairy Godmother NPC right in the center of the map, standing across the well. When you find her, here’s what you need to do:
- Look at the crop types that are floating above the well. These are the specific plants the Fairy Godmother wants.
- You can either submit exactly what she’s asking for, or you can submit any plants that already have the Glimmering mutation to the Wishing Well.
When you bring the exact plants she wants, you’ll upgrade your reward tier right away. This is the faster route to better prizes. If you just bring random Glimmering plants, you’ll slowly fill up the Fountain Power meter instead.
Once you complete a task, you can make a wish and pick one of three rewards. Your chances of getting a Fairy Targeter depend on which tier you reach:

How to Use Fairy Targeter in Grow a Garden
Here is how to use the Fairy Targeter in Grow a Garden:
- Open your inventory and equip the Fairy Targeter.
- Find the plant you want to get the Glimmering mutation and stand near it.
- Click on an empty spot close to that plant. The Fairy Targeter will place itself there.
Now, when fairies fly around during the event, they’ll be more likely to visit plants near your Fairy Targeter. This gives those plants a much better chance of getting the Glimmering mutation.
Is It Worth Getting?
The Fairy Targeter is definitely worth getting, especially since it’s essentially free. You’re already doing Wishing Well tasks anyway, so why not grab this useful tool while you’re at it?
With a Fairy Targeter, you can focus the Glimmering mutation on plants that actually matter. If the Wishing Well wants specific plants with Glimmering mutations, you can target exactly those plants instead of hoping random ones get the effect. That’s incredibly valuable when you’re trying to complete specific tasks or build the perfect garden setup.
