HMD Global is set to announce a host of new smartphones in July. These will mostly include a bunch of entry-level and mid-range smartphones, and some of them will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips inside. HMD-themed Twitter user, smashx_60, leaked the photo of the upcoming HMD View smartphone, which will be part of the company’s lineup for this year.
HMD View will be a mid-range smartphone that will sport an OLED display with FHD+ resolution. The indicates how the OLEDs are trickling down to the mid-range, but that’s not new. Samsung’s AMOLEDs have been around in mid-range phones for a while. Besides that, the View will house a new 6nm Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chip with two Cortex-A78 performance cores at 2.3GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.2GHz. Memory capacities will include 8GB of RAM.
So far, it’s not clear whether these phoens will run Android 14 or will HMD leapfrog directly to Android 15. We won’t hold our breath on that though. HMD will introduce this model in three colors – Meteor Black, Velvet (red), and Ice (gray). While there’s no confirmed date of when the View will be unveiled. The leaker also mentioned that the new range of HMD phones based on the Fabula designs will be easy to repair. The internals would be designed very similar to the HMD’s Lumia range of smartphones from the past.
