How to Cancel Audible Subscription on App

Audible is expensive. The most popular Gold plan starts at $15/month where you get one credit every month. And if you need more than one book, you might have to spend $20 or $30 depending on the titles. So, if you are like most people, who end up canceling their subscription after their free trial, here is how you do from your Android and iOS devices.

In case you purchased the Audible subscription and can’t find the option to cancel it, you’re not alone. Audible has intentionally made canceling the subscription difficult on mobile. I’ll show you how to cancel the Audible subscription on mobile. Let’s get started.

How to Cancel Audible Subscription on App

The official method to cancel Audible subscription requires you to log in and cancel the account from the computer. Now, if you don’t have access to a computer you can still cancel your Audible subscription from your smartphone.

There is no option to cancel Audible subscription on App, but you can use the mobile browser.

First, open the web browser on your smartphone and log in to your audible account. This method works for both Android and iOS as we’re using the web browser to cancel the subscription instead of the app.

Once you log in. Tap the hamburger icon (3 vertical dots) on the top left of the webpage of the Audible homepage.

It would open up a list of options from the left. Tap on My Account option.

You’ll see a couple of options on the left, tap on View Membership details.

This would pull up your subscription plan and the cancel button should be here. Sadly, it isn’t. Now, simply, change the layout of the webpage to desktop mode. To do so, tap on the 3 vertical dots on the top right.

 

Next, tap on the “Request Desktop site” in the browser’s options page. You can find it by tapping the three vertical dots on the top right of the browser.

As you tap the desktop mode, the webpage would load again and open the desktop version of the webpage. You would have to pinch and zoom to get a better look.

If you would check again under your subscription, you’d now see the ‘Cancel Membership’ button.

Tap the button and follow the steps to cancel your subscription. It would show you a screen with a message that states “if you cancel, you’ll lose your credits”, proceed to the next page by tapping “No Thanks, continue canceling“. Follow the steps to cancel your account.

What happens after you Cancel your Membership?

Congratulations, you’ve successfully canceled your Audible membership. You can join anytime in the future if you change your mind. You won’t get your credits back because it’s a part of the membership so keep that in mind. However, your purchased books would still be on your account and you can access them even after cancellation.

If you’re canceling your Audible due to high subscription fees, then you’re in luck. Audible aks a reason when you cancel your subscription if you select “it’s too expensive”, Audible offers a 50% discount for the next 3 months which is great.

The easiest method to cancel your Audible subscription is by using a desktop. If you want you can call their customer support as well for the cancellation. Their customer support is amazing and if you genuinely present your concern they offer enticing deals and discounts to keep you a member. Audible really wants you to keep the subscription and the cancelation difficult on smartphones. If you follow the steps above, canceling your subscription would take no more than five minutes.
