How to Disable Camera Control on iPhone 16 Series

The iPhone 16 comes with a new camera shutter button, or as Apple calls it, the Camera Control button. It lets you quickly snap photos, record videos, and even navigate the camera interface with simple gestures. But let’s face it, not everyone would find this new fancy new button that useful.

Disable Camera Control on iPhone 16

Some might find themselves accidentally launching the camera when they least expect it. Others may not like the position of the Camera Control button which is neither at the bottom side so you can use it easily in landscape mode as on popular cameras, nor towards the top so you can use it in portrait mode with your thumb.

The good news? There is a hidden accessibility option buried deep in the settings to disable the Camera Control button. I wish Apple had included an option to reconfigure it.

Here’s how to disable the Camera Control button:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone 16.
  2. Head to Accessibility > Camera Control.
  3. Now all you need to do is turn off the Camera Control toggle.

And that’s it! You’ve now disabled Camera Control.

But if you ever change your mind and want to explore its features, we’ve got you covered. Check out our in-depth guide on how to use the Camera Control, from opening the camera with a single press to using gestures for zooming, and exploring camera settings.
