Downloading albums from Google Photos on the desktop is easy. Simply head over to Google photos, click on “Albums” in the left menu. Find the album you want to download and open it. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner and select “Download all.” That’s it, Google will then download a zip file containing all the photos from your album.

But that’s not the case when it comes to the mobile app as there isn’t an option to download multiple albums from Google Photos app. Anyhow you can still do that with the method below.

Option 1 – Download Single Albums on Google Photos

Before I show you how to download multiple albums from Google Photos, here’s a quick rundown on how to download a single album.

Open the browser and head over to Google Photos. Now open the hamburger menu and select “Albums”.

Now open the album you want to download. Click on the three-dot menu at the top right of Google Photos and select the “Download all” option.

This will download the Zip. You can extract the zip file with any zip extraction app or you can use the in-built zip extraction feature on the files by Google app.

This process may be useful to download an album but when you want to download multiple albums, you have to open each album manually and download it, and then you need to extract each zip file to access the album as a folder. If you are looking to download multiple albums, then you can use the following method.

Option 2 – Download Multiple Albums at Once

To download multiple albums as a folder, open Google Takeout from this link and click on the “Deselect all” button as we only want to download Albums from Google Photos. Now scroll down and enable the checkmark beside Google Photos.

This will select complete data from Google Photos including every image. As we only need, few albums, click on the “All Photo Albums Included” button. This will open a pop-up showing all the albums in your Google Photos library. Now click on the deselect all button as the option shows you auto-generated albums depending on time. Then, scroll down to the bottom and select all the albums you want to download and click Ok.

Once done, scroll down and click on “Next Step”. Here you need to Choose file type, frequency & destination. Leave the default options and click on “Create Export”.

This process may take even hours or days depending on the number of photos in your album. Anyhow, you will get an email once the complete process is done. Later you can download the zip file and extract it the Files by Google app.
