X or Twitter is getting stuck on the loading screen for many users lately. Other users are reporting that Twitter gets stuck on the X logo screen instead. There are a few simple ways to fix the issue.

How to Fix X (Twitter) Stuck on Loading or Logo Screen

Quick Fixes

Some time-saving fixes you can try if X (Twitter) is stuck on the loading screen or just the logo.

  • Simply add ?lang=eng to the end of the URL. For example, enter x.com/?lang=eng and Twitter should load.
  • Make sure your internet connection is working. Maybe try mobile data or some other Wi-Fi network.
  • Data saver mode can hamper the loading speed of images and videos.
  • Clear browser or app cache depending on whether you are using a PC or mobile app.
  • Check if X is down as it has happened in the recent past.
  • You can log out of X (Twitter) from all devices if you feel your account has been compromised. I would also recommend changing the password.
  • Several users on Reddit found that uBlock Origin was blocking X from loading. While that is not the case on my Mac, do check.

Reauthenticate X (Twitter) Account

X requires you to authenticate your account if it detects any changes. Examples include changes in name, handle, description, sign-in from an unknown location or IP address, suspicious activity, etc. It may also be a routine check-up. This requirement often shows the ‘Error loading page’ message when you are using the X mobile app though confusing the user because the reason is not stated. All you see is the X logo screen or loading screen.

Sadly, you cannot authenticate your X (Twitter) account using the mobile app. You must do it from the desktop. There are no steps here.

Simply open X website in a new browser tab and log in with your account details. X will automatically ask you to authenticate the account. There will be a captcha too.

Disable X’s App Data Saver Mode

Yes, there is a separate data saver setting that resides inside the X app. This is not the same as your smartphone’s data saver mode. A lot of people may not even know it exists but it may contribute to the X (Twitter) loading screen error.

  1. Open X and go to More (desktop) or Account icon (mobile) > Settings & privacy > Accessibility, display, and languages > Data usage.
  2. Uncheck the Data saver option.

And that’s it, folks.
