With the new Pixel 9 lineup, Google has rolled out some cool new AI features and two new apps⏤Weather and Screenshot. Can’t wait to try these on your Android phone. Well, these are Pixel-exclusive apps so you won’t find them on the Play Store. But don’t sweat it – I will show you how to get the Pixel Weather and even Screenshots apps on your Android.
Note: The Pixel Screenshots app has appeared on the Play Store but you can’t install it on other Android smartphones.
Get the Pixel 9 Weather App
The Pixel 9 Weather app brings some new and interesting features to the table like an AI summary of today’s weather, cards that mimic Android widgets containing different weather details, and a minimalist UI in a gradient background.
Let’s kick things off with the weather app, and then we’ll get to the Screenshot app.
Download the Pixel Weather APK file from APKMirror and install it on your phone. If that doesn’t work, download the Split APKs Installer (SAI) app from the Play Store and give all the necessary permissions after opening it. Then try installing the Pixel 9 Weather app.
And there you go! You’ve got the Google Pixel 9-exclusive Weather app up and running on your Android phone.
Get the Pixel 9 Screenshots App
The dedicated Screenshots app on Pixel is pretty awesome for keeping your Gallery clutter-free. Plus, with the on-device AI, you can search for stuff in your saved screenshots – be it text or items in the screenshot using text or voice commands. If that sounds good and you want the same feature on your Android phone, download the Screenshots app from APKMirror. Once it’s installed, you can start organizing your screenshots into collections.
Unfortunately, the search feature in this version doesn’t work because the Screenshots app requires Gemini Nano, which is only available on the Pixel 9 series. But hey, even if the AI features don’t work, you can still use the app to organize all your screenshots in collections (folders) and take advantage of other features. For example, you can collect memes, office trip receipts, gift ideas, and more.
That’s all for now. Share this with your friends if you think they may want to try these Pixel-exclusive apps on their Android phones too.
