Elden Ring Nightreign Beta: How to Join and Release Date
The Elden Ring Nightreign network beta test is scheduled for February 2025. While the exact dates haven’t been announced yet, registration will be open on January 10th, 2025. The test will be available exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, though the full game will eventually be released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Starting January 10th, you’ll be able to sign up through the official Elden Ring Nightreign website. Keep in mind that registration doesn’t guarantee access to the test. FromSoftware will select participants for what they’re calling a “preliminary verification test.”

What to Expect in Elden Ring Nightreign Beta
Based on the official announcement from FromSoftware and Bandai Namco, the network test will let you try out “a portion of the game” before launch. For now, we don’t know exactly how much content will be available. However, here’s what you can expect from the full game based on the revealed features:
Three-Day Survival Cycles
Each session will take you through a tough three-day cycle in the world of Limveld. You will explore randomly generated areas, level up at Sitest of Grace to get stronger, and face tougher bosses each night. On top of that, the map shrinks as the Night’s Tide closes in, adding even more pressure to survive. It sounds intense, but it looks like fans in the community can not wait to play and see how fun it is to tackle these challenges!
Character Selection
You’ll get to choose from eight unique warriors called Nightfarers, each bringing their own special abilities and ultimate moves to the fight. While the full roster hasn’t been revealed yet, we do know these characters will play with different combat styles, keeping things fresh and exciting.
Cooperative Play
Though you can brave the nights alone, Nightreign is built for teams of three players working together. You’ll need to combine your unique abilities to survive, especially against the powerful Nightlords that appear on the third night of each run.
Will Progress From the Network Beta Test Carry Over?
Progress from the network beta test probably won’t carry over to the full game, but the final version will have a system where you can keep improving. Even if you fail, you will earn relics to customize your character. If you succeed, you will get permanent stat boots that stick with you for future runs.
Unlike the original Elden Ring, Nightreign changes things up with each playthrough. Maps, enemies, and rewards are always different, so no two runs feel the same. The combat is also faster, focusing more on quick decisions and teamwork than the usual slow, Soulslike gameplay.
