How to Open Google Discover Articles on Chrome or Any Browser

by Ravi Teja KNTS

Google Discover (earlier known as Google Feed) helps you to stay up to date with the news in the topics you are interested in. You can access Google Discover by opening the Google App on your smartphone. But when you open the articles in the feed from the Android home page, it opens the article as a separate app instead of opening in Chrome. So you lose out features like opening a new tab instantly to search for something related to what you are reading. Anyhow, you can change it to open in Chrome directly. Here is how.

How to Open Google Discover Articles on Chrome

These articles open like a standalone app because of the Google app on your phone. To change that open app drawer and open the Google app. Now select the More option in the bottom menu and then select the “Settings” option.

In the Google app’s settings page, select “General” and turn off the option called “Open web pages in the app”.

This will stop opening articles in Google discover feed like standalone apps. Not just that, even the links from any app will directly open in the browser instead of opening like an app.

Most people prefer Google Chrome as their default browser, however, if you don’t, you can change the default browser by opening system settings > Apps >  three-dot menu > default apps and select browser and select the browser you want to open by default.
