- Audio Eraser in One UI 7 uses AI to remove background noise from videos.
- You can fine-tune sound layers by adjusting sliders, like reducing wind and boosting voices.
- It is available on the Galaxy S25, as well as some older devices like the Galaxy S24 series, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6.

Samsung has started rolling out One UI 7 to several Galaxy phones, and with it comes a new feature: Audio Eraser, which first debuted with the Galaxy S25 series. It uses AI to remove background noise from your videos, making the audio much cleaner.
Since then, the feature has been added to several older models like the Galaxy S24 series, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 through the One UI 7 Beta. However, it’s not available on devices older than these, like the Galaxy S23 series.
Before we jump into how to use Audio Eraser, let’s quickly go over what it is and what it actually does.
Audio Eraser Removes Background Noise from Videos
One UI 7’s Audio Eraser works with videos saved in the Samsung Gallery app. It comes in handy when your recordings have background noise, like wind blowing while you’re filming outdoors or people talking in the background at a cafe.
Samsung says the feature can detect sounds like voices, music, wind, nature, crowds, and general noise. It automatically cleans up audio, but you also get manual controls. These sounds are separated into layers, and you can use sliders to reduce specific ones; for example, lowering wind noise while keeping voices clear.

Using it feels a lot like Google’s Audio Magic Eraser on the Pixel 8, which works through the Google Photos app. Both features are pretty much the same, which makes sense given how closely Samsung and Google have worked together over the years.
There is one key difference though. Google’s version uses cloud processing, while Samsung’s Audio Eraser runs entirely on your phone. This makes it faster and does not require an internet connection. On the flip side, that also explains why it is not available on older models.
Phones like the Galaxy S24 series, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 can handle it because they use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and support the on-device Gemini Nano AI model. Older devices like the Galaxy S23 do not have the required hardware, so the feature is missing there.
How to Use Audio Eraser on One UI 7
1. Open the Gallery app on your Samsung phone running One UI 7.
2. Play the video you want to clean up.
3. Tap the Galaxy AI icon at the bottom. The Gallery app will process your video and show the available options.

4. Tap Auto on the left to let Galaxy AI remove unwanted background noise. It will analyze the audio, reduce what it considers noise, and boost the sounds it thinks are important, like voices.
5. If the automatic result does not sound quite right, you can manually adjust each sound layer using the sliders. For example, you can lower the background noise completely and increase the voice volume if needed.
6. Tap Hear Original in the top left corner to compare the edited version with the original and see if it sounds better.
7. When you are happy with how it sounds, tap Save Copy and wait for the new version to save.

8. Now your video has cleaner audio and fewer distractions.
Note: If you don’t see the Galaxy AI icon or the Audio Eraser feature, it means your phone either doesn’t support it or doesn’t have One UI 7 yet. If you’re using One UI 7 on a supported phone, you can check if it’s available by going to Settings > Galaxy AI > Audio Eraser. You can also check for updates in Settings > Software Update to see if an update is available for your device.
Here’s Where You Might Actually Love Audio Eraser
It might seem like one of those features that gets lost among all the One UI 7 features, but Audio Eraser can actually come in handy when you least expect it. Let me give you a few examples.
Imagine you’re filming your kid’s school performance, and there’s a lot of chatter or rustling from the audience. With Audio Eraser, you can bring their voice front and center and tone down everything else.
Or maybe you’re filming a vlog or doing a casual interview at home, and there’s a fan running or traffic sounds outside your window. You can clean up those distractions and make your voice sound much clearer, without having to re-record anything.
Another great use case is if you have a GoPro video from a recent bike ride. You can transfer the video to your Samsung phone, open it in the Gallery, and use Audio Eraser to remove wind noise or engine sounds. That saves you from digging through complicated tools like Audacity or fidgeting around with the audio controls in video editors.
It is basically like having a built-in sound editor on your phone. While it might not always deliver studio-level results, it is a great tool to have around. And even if you do not record videos often, it is still one of those features you will want to show off the next time someone with an iPhone asks what Galaxy AI is really capable of.
