Apple introduced the Camera Control button on the bottom right-hand side with the iPhone 16 series. A physical button designed to make snapping photos and recording videos easier and also let you adjust your photography settings with simple gestures. But if you don’t want to use it, you can change it’s function to launch the Magnifier or QR code scanner instead.

When you press the Camera Control button, all the camera UI elements disappear, giving you a clean, distraction-free preview. This happens in both portrait and landscape mode. The idea is help you focus on your shot without accidentally hitting any onscreen buttons.

You might be wondering why anyone would want to turn off this clean preview feature, given its benefits. Well, some users may find the Camera Control gestures a bit tricky and may prefer the on-screen controls for easier access. And let’s be honest – the button’s placement can make it awkward to use in both portrait and landscape modes.

Fortunately, Apple has included a setting to disable the Camera Control clean preview the iPhone 16 models. It’s super simple. Just follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone 16.
  2. Navigate to Camera > Camera Control.
  3. Finally, toggle off the Clean Preview option.

We hope this guide made it easy for you to manage your camera settings! You can completely disable the Camera Control button too if you want nothing to do with it and pretend it doesn’t exist.
