Jujutsu Shenanigans Beginner Guide

Jujutsu Shenanigans is a Roblox battlegrounds game based on Jujutsu Kaisen that combines anime chaos with fast-paced combat. The game can feel overwhelming when you first start because experienced players dominate servers and the skill gap is massive. This Jujutsu Shenanigans beginner guide covers the essential controls, combat basics, and tips to help you survive your first few matches without getting destroyed immediately.

Basic Controls and Movement

Before jumping into fights, you need to adjust a few settings.

  • Go into the game’s options menu and toggle on auto run. This makes movement much smoother since the default controls can feel awkward.

Movement in this game goes beyond just walking around. You can wall jump by holding the space bar while running into a wall. To actually climb buildings, run forward while holding space and alternate between pressing the left and right movement keys. You can wall jump up to three times in a row.

Combat Basics

Basic attacks consist of four punches. The fourth punch ragdolls your opponent, knocking them backward. You can also hold space to uppercut or punch while jumping, which slams opponents into the ground. These punches are how you start most of your combos.

Dashing is done by pressing Q. You can dash forward, backward, or to the sides. Dashing directly into an opponent stuns them briefly and adds an extra punch that doesn’t count toward your four-punch combo. You get two dashes at a time, but they need to be in different directions. The cooldown is 5 seconds. If you’re getting attacked by two or more players at once, you can press Q to perform a burst that knocks enemies back. This has a 10-second cooldown.

The best way to start a combo is side dashing behind an enemy. This prevents them from blocking your first punch, which opens them up for the rest of your combo. You can also get behind enemies by front dashing or wall climbing over them.

Characters for Beginners

If you’re new to the game, start with either Yuji or Gojo. Both characters are beginner-friendly but work differently. Yuji is a melee-only character with no ranged attacks. His moves focus on closing the gap between you and your opponent quickly. Gojo has way more range with projectile attacks, though most of his long-range moves can be blocked.

Here’s a quick comparison:

CharacterPlaystyleBest For
YujiMelee-focused, high mobilityPlayers who like getting up close
GojoLong-range projectiles, teleportPlayers who prefer controlling space

Both characters have straightforward ultimate move sets once you unlock them. All their awakening moves can be used in any combination without worrying too much about timing or setup.

Blocking and Defensive Options

Blocking is done by pressing F. Many abilities in the game can be blocked or at least have reduced damage when blocked. However, blocking doesn’t work if you’re attacked from the side or behind, so positioning matters. You also can’t block most awakened abilities or certain moves like Black Flash, Crushing Blow, or Gojo’s rapid punches.

Getting Your Ultimate

You fill your ultimate bar by damaging players with your moves. Once the bar is full, press G to activate your awakening. This gives you a massive power boost and access to special abilities. Each character can also summon a unique domain expansion while awakened. Domains can be broken by punching them from outside, so positioning matters when using them.

Jujutsu Shenanigans has a steep learning curve, but sticking with Yuji or Gojo while practicing the basics will get you comfortable with the combat system. For more detailed character guides and advanced techniques, check out our Jujutsu Shenanigans wiki.
