How to Play Hulk: Combos and Tactics
First things first, it is recommended to adjust a specific setting for smoother gameplay:
- Go to Settings.
- Choose the Keyboard tab and go to the Combat page.
- Click All Heroes on top and pick Bruce Banner as your hero.
- Find Hold to Activate Incredible Leap and turn it OFF.

Why do this? Because now you don’t have to hold the spacebar to charge your jump. Just tap space to start charging, then tap space again to jump. This way, you can still punch people while charging up your leap.
Hulk is pretty easy to pick up but hard to master. His melee attacks don’t require precise aiming, and you have tons of health, so mistakes won’t kill you right away. But playing him well is more about being smart. It requires more strategy than having good skills.

When you start a match as Bruce Banner, immediately transform into the Hulk. There’s no advantage to staying as weak Banner. As Hulk, your job is to leap into the fights and go after the enemy healers first. Those guys keep their whole team alive, so take them out. Then, if the enemy has flying heroes like Iron Man, Human Torch, Ultron, or Storm, they’re your second target. Always focus on the Strategists first, but when you get a chance, jump up and knock those flying guys down.

Remember not to waste your Indestructible Guard shield. Save it for important moments when enemies use their ultimate or deadly combos. This ability will also protect your nearby teammates, so if your healer is in trouble, you can leap back and shield them.

When you activate Monster Hulk, your mission is simple: SMASH. Go all-in with aggressive damage, hit everything that moves, and cause as much chaos as possible. However, if the fight becomes overwhelming, quickly leap back toward your team. You never want to revert to Bruce Banner in the middle of enemy territory.

How to Counter Hulk in Marvel Rivals
Although he is very powerful, Hulk isn’t unbeatable. Here’s how to deal with him:
Hero | How They Counter Hulk |
---|---|
![]() The Thing | • Can jump back to protect healers and trade punches with Hulk. |
![]() Thor | • Does consistent big damage. • Can knock Hulk away from teammates. |
![]() Squirrel Girl | • Can stun Hulk and does enough burst damage to really hurt him. |
![]() Wolverine | • Melts tanks like Hulk and can grab him to stop his dives. |
![]() Mantis | • Can put Hulk to sleep, stopping him from diving your backline. |
![]() Luna Snow | • Can put Hulk to sleep, stopping him from diving at your backline. |
That’s everything you need to know about playing Hulk in Marvel Rivals. Remember to change that setting first, learn how to use your leap properly, and think about where you position yourself. Do it right, and you’ll have enemies running scared from the Incredible Hulk.
