From the previous leaks, we found out that Psylocke will definitely get the swimsuit skin in the game. However, data miners just dropped even more leaks that show the first wave of the summer skins, and it includes five popular characters that players have been asking for. You’re getting swimsuit versions of Punisher, Loki, Thor, Luna Snow, and Psylocke. Each character brings something different to the beach party, and honestly, some of these designs are so awesome.
Last month, the reveal of Marvel Rivals Swimsuit skins came through executive producer Danny Koo, who showed off the designs alongside a tie-in comic called Marvel Swimsuit Special. So, yes, this isn’t just a random fan service because there’s actually some comic book history behind these looks!
The Male Heroes Are Getting Bold Swimsuit Designs
Let’s talk about the guys first because they’re definitely not holding back. Thor’s swimsuit is probably the most normal of the bunch; He’s wearing tight swim trunks that show off his muscles. Nothing too crazy here, just Beach Thor doing his thing.
But then you have Loki and Punisher, and these two are wearing some seriously tight Speedos! Loki’s design actually fits his trickster vibe with a super snug fit that’s clearly meant to get reactions from players. He completed the look with a proper bathrobe, but in his signature color.
Punisher’s Speedo is pretty interesting because it has a big skull right on the front. It’s actually inspired by the 1993 Marvel Swimsuit Edition comic, where Frank Castle wore the exact same thing. Back then, it was meant as a joke, but now you can actually play with it in the game. Additionally, the developer added a twist to his guns, creating a fun and colorful weapons that actually look like Nerf blasters.
I am not surprised about this, though. NetEase has always been great at taking fun comic book or movie moments and putting them in the game. Just look at Spider-Man and Venom’s dance moves. They clearly love bringing these easter eggs to life for players!
Female Heroes Get High-Cut Swimsuit Skins
Luna Snow and Psylocke are getting their own summer looks, and both characters are sporting these high-cut swimsuits. They are a bit revealing, but if you know how NetEase designs female characters in Marvel Rivals, you won’t be surprised by how these turned out. However, I still think these designs are very stylish and cute. Perfect for summer, especially Psylocke’s color combination.
The summer swimsuit skins fit right in with other costumes we’ve seen for characters like Emma Frost and Magik. NetEase clearly knows what their players want, and they’re giving it to them with these summer collections.
Marvel Rivals Summer Swimsuit Skins Release Date
Right now, we don’t have exact release dates for these swimsuit skins. The developers haven’t said if these will be Legendary tier skins or something else, so we don’t know how much they’ll cost either.
What we do know is that these five characters are just the start. The way NetEase has been doing seasonal stuff suggests there might be more swimsuit skins coming later this summer. They’ve already put out summer fits for Squirrel Girl, Rocket Raccoon, and Jeff, so adding more makes sense.
