Marvel’s Wolverine Gets Release Window for PS5!

Insomniac Games has finally shown off the first real look at Marvel’s Wolverine after keeping fans waiting for a long time. The studio behind the Spider-Man games revealed a new trailer that shows Logan in action, and it’s clear they’re not holding back on the violence. This is a single-player game that takes a much darker approach compared to their previous Marvel titles. Players will get to experience what it’s really like to be Wolverine, complete with all the brutal combat you’d expect from the character.

When You Can Play Marvel’s Wolverine

The game is coming to PlayStation 5 in Fall 2026. Insomniac hasn’t given us an exact date yet, but they mentioned there will be a special livestream in Spring 2026 where they’ll share more details. The price will likely be $69.99, which is standard for most PlayStation exclusive games these days.

What the Game Is About

Marvel’s Wolverine tells an original story about Logan trying to figure out his past. The game has him searching for answers about things he can’t quite remember, and getting those answers means fighting through tons of enemies who don’t want him to find the truth. Liam McIntyre is the actor playing Wolverine, and from what we’ve seen in the trailer, he’s bringing out all the anger and pain that makes Logan who he is.

The Combat and Gameplay

The trailer showed off some pretty intense fight scenes. Logan uses his adamantium claws to cut through enemies in ways that are definitely not for younger players. You’ll see him slicing bodies, stabbing through skulls, and generally causing a lot of bloody damage to anyone who gets in his way.

There are also some big action moments shown in the trailer. Logan rides a motorcycle while chasing someone, falls down the side of a building while trying to grab onto it with his claws, and fights through waves of enemies without stopping. The developers say the combat will be fast and aggressive, which fits with how Wolverine fights in the comics. When Logan decides to attack, he doesn’t hold back, and that’s exactly how the game plays out.

Characters and Locations

While Wolverine usually works alone, the trailer hints at some familiar faces showing up. You might spot characters like Mystique and Omega Red in there if you look carefully. Some of these characters will help Logan, while others will try to stop him.

What Makes This Different from Spider-Man

Insomniac is making it clear that Wolverine is a very different game from their Spider-Man series. This one is much more violent and darker in tone. The developers are building the game specifically for PS5, and they’re using everything they learned from making superhero games to create something new.

They want to capture what makes Wolverine stand out as a character – his dark personality, his violent methods, and his struggle with being a hero despite all that. The game will have the same quality you expect from Insomniac, including good accessibility options and a strong story, but the overall experience will be much more intense.

For now, we know Fall 2026 is when we’ll get to play it, and the wait will probably be worth it if you’re a Wolverine fan who’s been wanting a game that truly shows what the character is capable of.
