MediaTek has unveiled a new flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9400 Plus. It is the successor to the Dimensity 9400 from last year and brings improvements in clock speeds and some new AI features. The arch-rival of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Dimensity 9400 Plus, has made its debut in phones like the Oppo Find X8s and Find X8s+. Here’s everything you need to know about this processor.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Plus Unveiled With Improved NPU
The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Plus improves on the all-big-core design adopted by the Dimensity 9400 last year. It has the same architecture, although with a slightly faster clock speed of 3.73GHz, up from 3.63GHz on the Dimensity 9400. It should deliver better CPU performance, theoretically making it better than the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The core architecture remains the same as it has three Cortex X4 cores and four Cortex A720 cores. It is capable of supporting up to a 320-megapixel camera, UFS 4.0 MCQ storage, and LPDDR5X RAM.

The company is sticking to the same 12-core ARM Immortalis G925 MC12 GPU, so you can expect similar gaming performance as the 9400. You get all the fancy graphics features, including real-time ray tracing support and Super Resolution. There’s also Frame Rate Converter 2.0+, which delivers better performance while consuming 40 percent less power.
Coming to AI, the Dimensity 9400 Plus uses the same MediaTek NPU 890 from last year. Furthermore, the 9400 Plus offers 20 percent faster agentic AI performance with the Speculative Decoding+ feature. This should help developers in converting AI apps to magnetic AI ones.
According to leaked benchmarks, the phone scores 2.9 million in AnTuTu, more than the 2.73 million score of the iQOO 13 using Snapdragon 8 Elite. However, that’s pre-production, so it’s best to take it with a pinch of salt.
Coming to optics, you get the MediaTek Imagiq 1080, which his the same ISP as last year. In terms of connectivity, Dimensity 9400+ supports Bluetooth connections up to 10km, a 1.5km increase from last year. You get Bluetooth 6.0, GNSS, Sub 6 5G, 4G LTE, and Wi-Fi 7. Oh, and for Chinese users, there’s BeiDou satellite connection capability.
Phones With Dimensity 9400 Plus: When Are They Coming?
The Oppo Find X8s and Find X8s+ are the first phones to launch with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Plus. Furthermore, phones like the Realme GT 7 and the Vivo X200s are also confirmed to use the processor. Other phones with Dimensity 9400 Plus are expected to launch in the market later this month.
