Monkey Bomb Tag is a survival game on Roblox where players compete to be the last monkey standing. One player starts with a bomb that explodes after 25 seconds, eliminating whoever holds it when the timer runs out. The objective is simple: avoid the bomb and outlast everyone else. Here's everything beginners need to know about Monkey Bomb Tag.
How to Play Monkey Bomb Tag
One player spawns with a bomb at the start of each round. The bomb transfers to another player when the person holding it gets close enough to tag them. Tagging works on proximity, meaning you don't need to click or press any buttons. Simply run near another player and the bomb automatically passes to them.
The bomb explodes after a few seconds. Whoever holds the bomb when the timer hits zero dies and is eliminated from that round. The round continues until only one player remains alive. That player wins the round and earns bananas based on their placement.
Players who die during a round do not respawn. You must wait until the next round starts to play again. This makes survival the top priority over risky plays.
Bananas are the main currency earned by placing well in rounds. Higher placements like top 4 or top 3 give around 35 bananas per round. Bananas are used in the case shop to unlock cosmetic items like tails and effects.

Controls and Movement
Monkey Bomb Tag features parkour mechanics that let players climb, jump, and swing across maps. Mastering movement gives you a major advantage in escaping the bomb or catching other players.
- Wall jumping lets you climb vertical surfaces. Jump toward a wall and continue jumping to climb upward. This mechanic is essential for reaching high areas where fewer players can follow you.
- Vines appear on most maps and let you swing across gaps quickly. Jump onto a vine and you automatically grab it. Use vines to escape players chasing you or to reach the top of maps faster.
- Ziplines connect different areas on some maps. Walk onto a zipline and you slide across automatically. Ziplines provide fast escapes when someone with the bomb is chasing you.
- Players can accelerate their movement by chaining jumps and using parkour elements smoothly. The faster you move, the harder it is for others to tag you when you have the bomb.

Strategies to Win
Stay at the top of maps whenever possible. High ground gives you around 6+ seconds of safety when the bomb spawns at the bottom. Players at the bottom struggle to climb up quickly, buying you time to position yourself safely.
Move to corners when you don't have the bomb and few players remain. Players with the bomb rarely chase corner players because closer targets are easier to tag. This strategy works best when 5 or fewer players are left.
Use vines aggressively to outmaneuver opponents. Vines let you change direction quickly and break the momentum of players chasing you. Learn where vines spawn on each map to use them effectively during chases.
Wall jump to reach areas other players can't access easily. Many spots on maps are reachable only through wall jumping. These locations provide temporary safety from players who haven't mastered wall jumping yet.
Go around walls when being chased. Running around walls breaks the momentum of players following you. This buys extra seconds to find another player to tag or to survive until the bomb explodes.
When you have the bomb, find the nearest player immediately. Don't waste time climbing or exploring. The timer goes fast, so prioritize passing the bomb as quickly as possible. Stay aware of your surroundings and track which players have the bomb. Yellow indicators show who currently holds the bomb. Keep distance from that player unless you're in a corner or safe position.

Shop and Progression
The case shop sells cosmetic items for 100 bananas per case. Cases contain tails and effects that change your monkey's appearance. These items are cosmetic only and don't provide gameplay advantages. The Robux shop offers premium items purchasable with Robux. These items are optional and not required to win games.
Monkey Bomb Tag rewards movement skill and map awareness more than luck. Practice wall jumping, learn vine locations, and stay at high ground to improve your win rate and banana earnings. Check out more Monkey Bomb tag guides from our wiki.
