Ever wondered if your Nintendo Switch could fold in half? What if the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip had a double-folding hinge? It’s MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2025, and it is time for some crazy innovations. Samsung Display, the South Korean giant’s display division known for innovating screens has showcased some interesting concepts at MWC. From folding gaming consoles to briefcases with displays inside, here are some of the fanciest concepts made and showcased by Samsung Display at this year’s MWC 2025.
Samsung Display Showcases Unique Concepts at MWC 2025

One of the quirkiest concepts is the folding gaming console shown by Samsung Display. While having a handheld console such as a ROG Ally/Steam Deck/Nintendo Switch is certainly great, carrying them can be a hassle due to their large form factor. This 7.2-inch panel can be folded in half consuming less space than your typical handhelds.

You could simply carry it in your pocket or your handbag and unfold it just like a folding phone. But what about the joysticks? Well, there are holes to accommodate them on either side when you fold the console.
A Flip Phone That Folds Twice and a Tri-Fold
Another interesting concept was a Samsung Galaxy Flip concept with an asymmetric fold. This clamshell has two hinges, one at the top and one at the bottom allowing it to fold twice. However, even after both the hinges are folded, the display isn’t fully covered and is slightly exposed leaving it prone to scratches. I am not sure what are the advantages of a dual folding screen on a clamshell phone but it certainly looks cool.
Samsung Display also had another clamshell phone on showcase with a polygonal screen. This one seems a bit more practical as you get a bigger screen than the Z Flip while retaining the same form factor. There are cutouts for the camera and flash in the display similar to the Motorola Razr series. It has a 3.38-inch diamond-shaped OLED screen that the company claims is made using “cutting-edge laser processing” tech.
Furthermore, Samsung Display unveiled two tri-fold phones including the Flex S and Flex G. The Flex S has one screen that folds inside while the other folds outside while the Flex G has two screen folding inwards.
A Brief Case With Foldable Tablet or Tablet That Turns Into a Brief Case

At MWC 2025, Samsung Display also showcased the Flexible Cabinbag, a suitcase that contains an 18.1-inch foldable display. Samsung claims it is a tablet that transforms into a bag for portability. While it looks like a normal tablet at first glance, you get a massive 18.1-inch screen when unfolded.

This unique form factor makes it easy to carry anywhere from flights to meeting rooms to even a campfire with your friends. Maybe, we will see a salesman making a pitch by opening their suitcase or a guy fooling someone into thinking that a suitcase contains cash only to Rickroll them later, who knows what’s possible.
The company also showcases its bezel-less panels made by combining two 31.5-inch QD OLED panels for an immersive viewing experience. Do note that these are just concepts and are unlikely to make it to production. Samsung Display is a separate company that only manufactures displays for phones, tablets, TVs, and other appliances.
