  • The Upcoming OnePlus 15 is likely to feature a flat 6.78-inch display and a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset.
  • The Phone will come with a 50MP triple camera with a large primary and a periscope zoom camera.
  • OnePlus might end its partnership with Hasselblad and bring its own image brand.

OnePlus phones are often considered top-tier Android smartphones, especially when it comes to flagship-level performance. The OnePlus 13 proved that again with the Snapdragon 8 Elite and overall user experience. Now, it’s time for OnePlus to unveil its next big thing, the OnePlus 15, which is expected to bring some exciting upgrades and a major shift in the camera department.

OnePlus 15 Leaked Specs

According to a post by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the upcoming OnePlus 15 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (codenamed “SM8550”) chipset and feature a 50MP triple camera setup. However, OnePlus is reportedly ending its camera partnership with Hasselblad and will instead introduce its in-house imaging brand.

You might wonder why OnePlus is skipping the OnePlus 14 and jumping straight to 15? Well, it’s because the number 4 is considered unlucky in Chinese culture, often associated with bad luck. This isn’t the first time OnePlus has done this either. We never got a OnePlus 4 for the same reason.

Expected Specs of the OnePlus 15

Previous OnePlus 15 leaks show the phone powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Lite Gen 2. Continuing with that, new reports have added even more details about what we can expect.

While the official announcement is yet to arrive, here are the features that are likely to be part of OnePlus’ next flagship device:

  1. Design: OnePlus is expected to go for a completely new camera island on the front this time.
  2. Processor: The device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s next-gen SM8550 chip, likely branded as Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. This will be the direct successor to the current flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite.
  3. Display: It is expected to come with a 6.78-inch flat LIPO display with 1.5K resolution. It could be similar to the OnePlus 13R’s screen. While it’s technically a downgrade from the QHD+ on the OnePlus 13, the flat display with ultra-thin bezels might actually offer a more practical and immersive experience.
  4. Camera: A 50MP triple-camera setup is expected, with a large primary sensor and a periscope zoom lens. But the most interesting part? OnePlus is likely to drop its Hasselblad partnership and introduce its in-house image brand.
  5. Battery: The phone is rumored to feature a massive 7000mAh+ battery. It’s also expected to support 100W fast charging, both wired and wireless.

We’ll have to wait for the official announcement. However, if the leaks turn out to be true, the OnePlus 15 could become one of the flagship all-rounder in the Android world. Stay tuned for more updates!
