What Happens to Ida in One Piece Chapter 1168?
Chapter 1168 kicks off with the narrator giving us a quick rundown of how the giants’ reputation has improved in recent times due to trade, the hero work some giant Marines have been doing, plus King Harald’s doing his thing on the diplomacy front. However, the tone shifts immediately.
We’re shown Loki now being held in some damp, dingy cell in the Underworld’s Detention Center after what he did in Brewers Village. But the emotional core of the chapter takes us back to the past.
Harald returns from a mission and goes to Ida’s bar to take care of her. He promises Ida that Elbaf will soon be connected to the world and that they can return to their old days of adventuring together. Ida smiles when she hears it, but then tragedy strikes suddenly and devastatingly.

This pretty much forces the World Government to offer the title to Harald instead. Harald, accompanied by the Five Elders, enters the “Empty Throne” room. He tells them that once Elbaf joins the World Government, he plans to step down from the throne for some “young and pure.” But it all falls apart when he sees the throne is not empty.
What Is the Depths Covenant?
Harald is shocked when he sees someone sitting in the Empty Throne room. Imu appears and summons Harald forward. In a terrifying sequence within Pangea Castle, Imu brands Harald with the very same mark we saw on Killingham in the present story. It’s a ‘Depths Covenant’ mark, which enhances the recipient’s strength and grants immortality.
Harald screams in agony as his strength surges uncontrollably. Imu calls him a “Knight of Immortality” and declares him a servant of Mu.
He then issues a command: craft an ‘Abyss,’ essentially a pentagram, in Elbaf to seal their bond. And only after they’ve done that will Elbaf be allowed to join the World Government.

How Did Harald Get Screwed Over by Imu
Harald heads back to Elbaf and gets to work on creating the Abyss in the throne room of Aurust Castle. But just as you thought things couldn’t get any worse, Imu’s real intentions are finally out of the bag. The next order is given: Turn Elbaf into a full-on military nation with a fleet rivaling the Marines.
Harald tries to resist the transformation, but the ‘Depths Covenant’ proves to be a curse. It starts to take control away from Harald. His body starts doing things on its own, which clearly proves that he can never actually defy Imu’s orders.
Harald begins to panic and orders his soldiers to tie him to a pillar. He demands they summon Jarul and his sons immediately. With Hajrudin out at sea, only Loki and Jarul arrive at the scene.
A Massacre at Aurust Castle
Chapter 1168 takes a darker turn as it heads towards its bloody conclusion. In the Underworld Detention Center, a guard frees Loki from his cell and orders him to get to Aurust Castle because King Harald wants to see him. Meanwhile, at Jarul’s place, the elder giant is shocked by the emergency.
