One UI 6.1.1 will bring many new features to the fore but what are these features and on which phones will they be made available? A moderator of the camera software development team has shared details of many of these features on Samsung’s South Korea community thread.
Fold 6 and Flip 6 come preinstalled with the One UI 6.1.1 update, however, many older models will be receiving the update as well. Let’s take a quick look at which phones support these upcoming One UI 6.1.1 features.
Table of Contents
1. Camera
The camera app will be getting two new features.
Flex Cam
The camera app will get auto-zoom and flex camcorder features. Both features are already present on the Flip 6 but will soon be made available on the Flip 5 too.
- Auto zoom – automatically identifies subjects and objects like people, pets, buildings, etc. while the camera is in flex camcorder mode using AI and shoots at the best zoom level necessary.
- Flex camcorder – open the phone at 90 degrees to hold and record like a camcorder.
Video
Instant slomo is coming to Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy, and Tab S9 series. Again, they are already present in the Fold and Flip 6 models.
- Videos saved in the Gallery app will also support instant slomo in HDR10+ format.
- When you watch a video segment in instant slomo, you will see an option in the upper left corner to save that segment separately or directly share it with someone without saving it also.

2. Gallery
The Gallery app is getting an app with generative AI features, editing features, and a translator. The below three features will soon arrive on Galaxy Fold 4, Flip 4, Fold 5, Flip 5, Galaxy S22/S23/S24 series, Galaxy S23FE, and Galaxy Tab S8/9 series.
Generative AI
- Portrait Studio – First up on the list is Portrait Studio which will help you create portraits on the fly. There are different portrait effects to choose from like omics, 3D characters, watercolors, and sketches.
- Sketch to Image – It will let you draw or sketch on top of an existing photo.
- Live Effect – Photos are 2D in nature, however, using live effect, you will be able to add a depth effect creating interesting effects.

Editor
- Motion Clipper – press and hold a person or object in a motion photo to create a GIF or sticker.
- Cut – press and hold something to cut it from the image. You can cut out multiple objects from the image and create stickers or paste them anywhere.
Translation
- Overlay translation – once the text in the original image is analyzed, the translated text will be overlaid on top of the image to improve readability. AI will try and preserve the background color to ensure a smooth reading experience.
3. Downloadable
Fold 6 and Flip 6 come with Expert RAW format support. Samsung has plans to introduce it to older models too but in varying degrees.
- Astro Portrait – you can now shoot stars in the sky and portraits together on Fold 6, Flip 6, S24 series, and S23 series.
- Raw Editor – Galaxy Photo Editor now supports DNG editing on Fold 6, Flip 6, Galaxy Fold 4, Flip 4, Fold 5, Flip 5, Galaxy S22/S23/S24 series, and Galaxy Tab S8/9 series

Can’t wait to upgrade to Galaxy Z Flip 6? Note that while the announcement comes from the house of Samsung, I will recommend refraining from making purchases based on the above until the OTA update arrives.
4. Vertical Scrolling
This was leaked back in Feb but seems like a good time to recap. One UI 6.1.1 will also bring vertical scrolling via the Good Lock module Home Up. Vertical Application Drawer will let you scroll apps in the app drawer vertically instead of the current horizontally. Since you do not need a special sensor or chip for this feature, it should come to all Galaxy phones that is scheduled to get One UI 6.1.1.
Here is a list – Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Tab S8 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and Galaxy S24 series.
