  • Here is everything you need to know about the One UI 8 beta update.

With the release of Android 16 just around the corner, Samsung is also gearing up to release its flavor of the latest OS. While the One UI 7 rollout wasn’t the quickest or smoothest last time, the company hopes to remedy it this time. The One UI 8 update rollout is just around the corner, and here’s everything you need to know about the update.

One UI 8 beta update rollout to start soon

Samsung One UI 8 Beta To Release Soon: What To Expect?

With Samsung wrapping up the release of the One UI 7 update by June, it has already set its sights on the next project. The One UI 8 update based on Android 16 is likely to enter the beta phase soon.

While the South Korean giant hasn’t provided a concrete date for the beta, it could start by late June. The company has been testing One UI 8 internally, and we have even seen leaked screenshots.

The biggest hint, however, is the notifications sent via the Tips app. Those on the One UI 8 internal builds have been receiving notifications about what’s new in One UI 8 along with a new banner asking for feedback.

It has been laying the groundwork for the stable release of One UI 8. The first markets to get the beta could be India, South Korea, and the USA, where the banner is visible. It is also likely to roll out to other countries.

Compared to One UI 7, it is likely to be an incremental update that will polish and refine the user experience. Since Samsung wants to be quicker off the block this time, the visual changes will be minor.

Samsung Members App Gets New Beta Program Hub

With Android 16 set to release in June, Samsung doesn’t want to be seen too far behind. Ahead of the One UI 8 update rollout, the company has added a new section to the Samsung Members app.

The Beta Program Home section is the hub for all beta update activity available for your Samsung phone. You can check all the available betas, join them, or share your feedback on existing ones.

This area is not restricted to your phone, as you can also catch up on the latest updates for your watch or other Samsung apps. There are four sections in the app: One UI Beta, One UI Watch Beta, App Beta, and Beta Tips.

However, you can only get details that are open and available for your Samsung device. The app doesn’t show you info about the ones that you can’t join.

By participating in the beta for One UI 8, you can get an early taste of the software before it officially rolls out. Since these beta builds aren’t the most stable, you are likely to face some bugs and issues. You can provide feedback via the app to help Samsung fix those bugs and ensure the software becomes stable before rolling out.

How To Enroll?

To enroll in the One UI 8 beta program when it arrives, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Launch the Samsung Members app on your device.
  2. Navigate to the Beta Program Home section.
  3. In case a beta is available, it will be shown as “Open.”
  4. Tap the join button after reading the warnings and instructions
  5. Once you have joined, the status will be changed to Joined.

That’s it, you have successfully enrolled for the One UI 8 beta update. The app will notify you about the update once it goes live, allowing you to install it.

You can also find other details about the update and even chat about it with other users. There is an option to provide feedback and suggestions to Samsung.

Since Samsung likes to test One UI for various weeks, the stable version might take some time. The Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 will be the first devices to release with One UI 8 out of the box.
