OnePlus is getting ready to launch the OnePlus 13 – its flagship smartphone. It will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor which might be faster than Apple’s A18 (more on that later). But that’s not all. We have rounded up everything we know about the fast-approaching OnePlus 13 in a single place and will update this article based on new information. This article will dive into the latest rumors, leaks, and potential specs of the OnePlus 13.

Key Differences:

  • Processor & GPU: OnePlus 13 is rumored to have the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which will outperform the Gen 3 chipset of OnePlus 12.
  • Battery: A significant upgrade from 5,400mAh to 6,000mAh, though wireless charging may be removed.
  • Display: The OnePlus 13 will have a micro quad curved display (top and bottom edges curved), while the OnePlus 12 has a more traditional curved edge design.
  • Camera: OnePlus 13 will use the newer Lytia LYT-808 sensor, potentially offering better color tuning and low-light performance with Master Mode by Hasselblad.

Now, on with all the leaks, rumors, and news around the OnePlus 13.

Processor and RAM

It comes as no surprise that the OnePlus 13 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 built on 3nm technology. In a recent Geekbench benchmark leak, OnePlus 13 powered by the 8 Gen 4 scored impressive points. With a 2x 2.32 GHz + 6x 3.53 GHz processor, it received 10,000 points in multicore and 3,236 in single-core – leaked on Weibo. As per current data, it seems OnePlus powered by 8 Gen 4 is outperforming the iPhone 16 powered by the A18 series which is quite something.

Note: These numbers remain unverified and seem too high for mobile processors so take it with a grain of salt.

OnePlus 13 base variant will begin with 16GB RAM. According to the leak, it will feature an Adreno 830 GPU that reportedly runs at 1,250 MHz. That should boost the performance by around 25% compared to the previous 8 Gen 3 phones.

Android OS Version

Furthermore, OnePlus 13 will come with Android 15 out of the box. Well, the Pixel 9 should have been the first phone to come with Android 15 but Google missed that bus.

Battery and Charging Speed

OnePlus is bumping the battery from 5400mAh in the OnePlus 12 to 6,000 mAh coupled with 100W wired charging. Thanks to a new tech called Si-C cells (Mono-crystalline silicon), the company claims that the phone will still manage to be thin and light.

Unfortunately, OnePlus 13 will drop wireless charging support as per Digital Chat Station. That is a weird move. The only reason I can think of is cost reduction. OnePlus smartphones are known for their price-to-performance ratio. Note that there are contradictory reports with another doing the rounds saying it will feature a 50W wireless charging.

Display and Design

The display will be a 6.8” LTPO OLED screen but that’s not the impressive part. What I find cool is that OnePlus will come with a QHD display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. It is also called 2.5K. Both Oppo and OnePlus will be using micro quad curved panels moving on as per leaked reports. That means the top and bottom display will curve instead of the sides as we have so far in other phones.

An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the panel is also expected which will make unlocking the smartphone super quick.

As for the design, OnePlus 13 is rumored to feature an all-glass design with a white glass option that you can buy separately. However, at the moment, there are no images available.

Yogesh Brar, a popular leaker, has shared the back angle of the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R. It seems the former will feature the camera island in the middle rather than on the left we saw in OnePlus 12.

An important part of the design is waterproofing. GSMArena reports that this year, the OnePlus 13 might be one of the few phones to get an IP69 rating. While impressive, we have done a video on how this is a gimmick and may not really help in any meaningful way.

Camera

OnePlus works with Hasselblad closely and this year is no different. OnePlus 13’s camera will feature master mode recently developed by the popular camera maker. Master Mode will add fine color tuning making the photos more natural and vibrant.

While details are scarce, experts will OnePlus 13 will borrow the camera island from the OnePlus 12 with some minor improvements. OnePlus 12 featured a 50MP main camera, 48MP ultrawide shooter, and 64MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom. The primary 50MP shooter will be Lytia LYT-808 sensor with an f/1.6 aperture.

Release Date and Price

There is no official date for the OnePlus 13, however, looking at past data, it should arrive sometime next month in October. OnePlus’s president, Louis Lee also suggested a similar timeframe on Weibo without actually confirming the phone’s name or launch date.

Seeing how OnePlus 12 started at $799, I expect the OnePlus 13 to launch at the same price or with a maximum markup of $100.
