He also revealed that the Android version of Comet is “moving at crazy pace and moving ahead of schedule”. Furthermore, Srinivas said that the iOS version of the browser is also in the works.

Comet is currently available in beta for macOS users using Apple’s M series chip. The standout feature of the browser is the Agentic AI features.

Apart from solving user queries, the browser can check your shopping cart to find the best discount or find unread emails. You also have the option to try new clothes by uploading a photo of yourself to get a preview of how it will look.

Despite having no launch date, the AI browser is already embroiled in controversy due to concerns about data collection. In an interview, CEO Aravind Srivnivas said that Perplexity would use the browser” to get data even outside the app to better understand you”.

Although he later clarified that users will be given the option to opt out of targeted advertising personalization. Comet will face stiff competition from rivals like Opera Neon and OpenAI’s Operator.
