Plants in this game have two different attack types: ranged and melee. Knowing the difference helps you place them correctly. Melee plants need to be up close to hit enemies, so you should place them nearest to the Treadmill where the Brainrots spawn. Ranged plants can attack from farther away, so they work better in the back rows of your defense setup.

How Plant Leveling Works in Plants vs Brainrots
Each plant has unique damage output and cost, with rarer plants offering substantially more power. Your plants gain levels by defeating Brainrots, and each level increases their damage multiplier. The max level for any plant is 5, so you’ll want to grind those levels to maximize your damage output. You can also boost their XP by converting some plants into an XP booster in the Plant Extractor.
Here’s exactly how the damage multipliers work:

Brainrots are the enemies in Plants vs Brianrots, but they’re also your main source of income. When the plants above defeat a brainrot on the treadmill, you will automatically collect it. You can also sell these brainrots for money, which you will use to buy better plants and upgrades.
There are also other methods to obtain Brainrots in the game. You can also use the Fuse Machine to combine Brainrot with plants and create rarer ones. Some Brainrots come from Lucky Eggs, which you can hatch for random results. Here’s every brainrot you can currently collect in Plants vs Brainrots:

How Brainrot Mutations Work in Plants vs Brainrots
Some brainrots spawn with mutations, which make them more valuable. Brainrot can only have one mutation at a time, so you won’t see double or triple mutations stacking up. The mutation adds extra value when you sell it to Barry NPC. The chance of getting a mutated Brainrot is random, so you can’t really control it. Just keep defeating Brainrots on the treadmill, and eventually you’ll get lucky with a mutation spawn.
