Pragmata features five different currencies, which can quickly become confusing. Each one serves a specific purpose, and spending the wrong currency in the wrong place can set you back later. This guide explains all the currencies in Pragmata, what each one is used for, and how to obtain them.

All Currencies in Pragmata

In Pragmata, progressing further requires upgrading your combat abilities and crafting better equipment for Hugh and Diana. This is done by spending different types of currency. There are five types of currency in Pragmata, each with its own purpose:

  • Lunafilament
  • Upgrade Materials
  • Cabin Coins
  • Data Shards
  • Pure Lunum

Now, let’s take a closer look at each of these currencies.

1. Lunafilament

Lunafilament is the main currency in Pragmata. You'll see it all the time. It's the glowing blue cubes that pop up on the floor that you can pick up constantly. You get Lunafilament by defeating enemies, opening chests, and finishing puzzles.

To spend Lunafilament, head to the Unit Printer back at the Shelter. This is where you turn weapon blueprints into permanent gear, so choosing the right weapons here really matters. You can also upgrade existing blueprints to make your weapons stronger. Check the Unit Printer every time you return to the Shelter. New options unlock as you progress, and having the right loadout going into a new sector can make a big difference.

2. Upgrade Components

Upgrade Components are the yellow cubes scattered around the map. They stand out visually, which helps, but a lot of them are hidden in tricky spots. To get Upgrade Components, you'll need to explore and solve puzzles. Some are along the main story path, but plenty are tucked away in corners you'd easily miss if you rush through.

You can spend Upgrade Components on Firmware Updater at the Shelter. This upgrades:

  • Hugh's suit stats
  • Hugh's primary unit
  • Diana's hacking abilities

3. Cabin Coins

Cabin Coins go to Cabin, the character you unlock back at the Shelter after clearing the Solar Power Plant sector. Cabin runs bingo boards that reward you with useful stuff, enemy intel, sector hints, and more.

You can get Cabin Coins by:

  • Finding Cabin Figures hidden in each sector
  • Assembling REMs at the Shelter
  • Unlocking Cabin's features for the first time

Spend Cabin Coins to place dots on the Cabin's Stamp Club, which looks like a bingo board. Land a bingo, and you unlock rewards. You can pick a mystery square or choose a named one. New bingo boards appear as you unlock more Shelter facilities, so revisit Cabin often. There's usually something new waiting.

4. Data Shards

Data Shards unlock new gear upgrade options at your Unit Printer. Without them, some upgrades just aren't available. You can find Data Shards inside random boxes scattered throughout the sectors. The same boxes that sometimes give you weapons or other currencies.

5. Pure Lunum

This is one of the rarest currencies in Pragmata. Don't expect to come across it often. To get Pure Lunum, you need to complete Red Zones, which are optional, combat-heavy challenges in each sector. These are tough, and you'll need proper gear before attempting them. You can check how many Pure Lunum are available per sector block on the station overview screen.

Pragmata Pure Lunum

You can spend Pure Lunum for ability upgrades at the Unit Printer. These are a different tier of upgrade from regular Lunafilament purchases. They unlock things like exclusive hacking nodes and specialized suit stat boosts.

Don't attempt Red Zones underprepared. Make sure Hugh and Diana are upgraded with your other currencies first, then go back for Pure Lunum once you're comfortable with the combat.

Once you get comfortable with what all currencies in Pragmata do and where to spend them, managing your progression in the game becomes a lot simpler. Again, the game rewards thorough exploration, so slow down, check every corner, and make each currency count.
