Blue and red crystals block paths throughout Pragmata's lunar research facility, hiding shortcuts, collectibles, and upgrades behind impenetrable barriers. You cannot destroy these crystals by shooting or hacking them. Instead, you need specific story abilities that unlock as you progress through the campaign. Here's when you get these abilities and how to use them to destroy Blue and Red Crystals in Pragmata.

How to Destroy Blue Crystals (Filament Masses) in Pragmata?

Blue crystals are called Filament Masses. These rock formations with glowing blue spikes appear in Sector 1 and Sector 2, blocking optional paths that lead to storage expanders, safe boxes, and combat challenges.

You unlock the Lim Eraser ability automatically during Sector 2: Mass Production Array. Specifically, you find it in Block 5: Lim Recycling Facility near the end of the sector. Diana discovers a data chip at a terminal in a storage area. During a short cutscene, Diana reads the chip (she actually bites it to absorb the data) and unlocks the Lim Eraser for you. This is a story event you cannot miss.

Once you have the Lim Eraser, approach any blue crystal barrier and interact. Diana dissolves the crystals, granting you Lunafilament materials and clearing the path. After unlocking this ability, backtrack to earlier sectors to destroy blue crystals you passed before. In Sector 1, check the area just past the moving laser wall and near the initial tram stop.

How to Destroy Red crystals (Dead Filament)?

Red crystals are called Dead Filament. These barriers are more stubborn than blue ones and the Lim Eraser cannot destroy them. You need a different ability called Cleanse. You unlock Cleanse in Sector 5: Experimental Pragmatics after defeating the Luna Digger boss. This happens near the end of the game, so you'll spend most of your playthrough unable to access areas blocked by red crystals.

To use Cleanse, hold your interact button to charge a pulse around Diana. When the pulse grows large enough to cover the entire red crystal barrier, release the button. Diana blasts the red crystals into pieces, clearing the path. For more guides check out our Pragmata wiki.
