Read Earth Memories, or REMs, are one of the best collectibles in Pragmata. They are holographic versions of everyday objects from Earth, and they help make the Shelter feel like an actual home. Once you pick one up out in the field, you can bring it back and gift it to Diana. If you want to collect all of them, keep on reading and find out all the Pragmata REM locations in this guide.
What is REM in Pragmata?
REMs stand for Read Earth Memory. They are holograms made by researchers on the Moon to keep memories of life on Earth. When you find one, it looks like a small glowing orb, but once you place it in the Shelter, it turns into its real form.
To give a REM from Hugh to Diana, go back to the Shelter, talk to her, and choose the Gift option. She will interact with the item every time you visit. You also get one Cabin Coin for each REM. These coins are used for Cabin Bingo Cards, so collecting REMs is worth it.
If Diana has the Item Scan ability from the Unit Printer, she can find nearby REMs while you explore. They show up as a blue icon, and she will say something when one is close. This makes them easier to find.
Each sector has its own REM Replicator set that unlocks as your Shelter Level goes up after major boss fights. When you complete a full set, the Shelter builds a display room with those items, giving Diana more things to interact with.
Pragmata REM Locations
There are so many REMs spread across different sectors in the game. Some are sitting right in your path, but a lot of them are tucked away behind holo-walls, up ziplines, or past puzzles you need specific abilities to solve.
Solar Power Plant REM Locations
1. Globe
This one is found automatically along the main path of the Solar Power Plant. Progress until you are done unlocking the five-lock door, and go through it. When you jump down, you will reach the bedroom and study. A cutscene plays, and you collect it.
2. Crayons
Before riding the large elevator for the first time, head back into the hallway and look into the dark corner on your right. Take the grapple and then lift up to a higher platform. When you reach the top, take a left turn, and look for a wall that occasionally flickers blue. That is theholo-wall. Walk up to it and activate it when prompted. The Crayons REM is at the back of the hidden room.
Mass Production Array REM Locations
1. Basketball
From the first lock you hack in the Office Space area, you can see this REM, but it is behind a locked gate. Head right and toward the back of the area, until you reach an aisle lit in red lights. Keep on going until you see shelves on the left side. Jump over to the back to reach it.
2. Slide
After hacking the second lock in the Interconnecting Passageway, go take a right turn and run towards the ramp. You will see the grapple on the right side of the wall. Climb up and get over the fence blocking the path when you're on top. Ahead, you will see the REM location.
3. Skateboard
Come back to Office Space after you unlock Diana’s ability to clear environmental blocks. There is a platforming section with a switch that moves platforms out of the wall. Hack the switch multiple times and use upgraded Thrusters to reach the top, where the Skateboard REM in Pragmata is located.
4. CRT TV
After the big fight in the Lim Recycling area, go through the hallway on the other side. This REM is on a platform before you drop through the lasers.
Terra Dome REM Locations
1. Flowers
The REM is close to the Terra Dome Entrance, to the right on a platform overlooking the elevator. There will be platforms stacked on top of each other; you just need to go down one by one and grab it.
2. Balloon
After you get the second Pure Lunum in the Red Zone, go out the door, walk straight, then jump to the lower platform ahead. When you see a Shelter lift on the right side, keep going. Walk down the stairs, head straight, and you will see the REM located in the right corner.
3. RC Car
You will see this one behind protective glass early on in the Eco Modeling Lab. To actually reach it, go to the far end of the room from the three Gen Chip terminals. Look for a slightly broken green holo screen on the wall.
After collecting the third chip in the Eco Modeling Lab, look from the railing to the right, and you will spot a wall with an enemy on it. Defeat the enemy, follow the path below, and th e REM is located in a room behind a laser maze.
4. Swing
After the fight at the Meteorology Lab, move into the room with the large center table. Head back out and use the far right door, use the Lim Recycler to clear the way, follow the path by jumping into platforms, and you will circle around to the previously locked door where the Swing REM is waiting.
Tips for Finding REM Locations in Pragmata
Keep these things in mind as you explore each sector:
- Upgrade Diana's scan ability early. Once you unlock Item Scan from the Unit Printer in the Shelter, Diana can ping nearby REMs and call them out for you. It saves a lot of backtracking.
- Come back after getting new abilities. Several REMs, like the Skateboard in Office Space, are locked behind abilities you get later in the game. If you see a REM you cannot reach, make a note and return once you have the right tools.
- Check every corner before moving on. A lot of REMs are off the beaten path, up ladders, past holo-walls, or at the top of platforming puzzles. If you are rushing through the main path, you will miss most of them.
- Always gift REMs to Diana before the next sector. Each time you return to the Shelter, make a habit of gifting any REMs you have collected. You get Cabin Coins currency each time.
There are also two trophies tied to REMs:
- For Me? for giving your first REM to Diana as a gift
- Replicating Extraordinaire! for completing a full REM series
So if you are a trophy hunter, these are all easy pickups as long as you stay on top of your REM collecting. Keep checking back as this guide gets updated with the remaining Terra Dome, Lunum Mines, and Central Lift REMs.
If you're on PC, it’s a good idea to check the system requirements first to make sure your setup can run the game smoothly before going to find all the REM locations in Pragmata! For more info about the game, visit our Pragmata Wiki page.
