These Pragmata tips before you buy will help you hit the ground running. The game throws a lot at you right away. You've got hacking, shooting, upgrading, and exploring all at once. These tips will help you get a grip on things faster so you stop dying and start making real progress.
1. Diana Is Your Most Important Weapon
Don't treat Diana like she's just a character who's along for the ride. She's the one who hacks enemies open, and without that hack, Hugh's bullets do almost nothing. Let her start every fight. Once she breaks through an enemy's armor, that's your window to deal real damage.

Dodging at the right time also slows things down, giving Diana more time to hack. Get into that rhythm of dodge, hack, shoot, and fights become way easier.
2. Every Hit Slows You Down
Each time Hugh gets hit, he slows down by 15%. A few bad fights in, and he's barely moving. Repair before tough fights, not after. Use your dash and hover thrusters to dodge more. They're there to keep you out of trouble, so use them often.

3. Go Back to the Shelter During Missions
Most players only visit the Shelter between missions. Don't do that. Levels are full of ladders and escape hatches that take you straight back there. Use them. Spend your upgrade materials mid-mission and come back stronger for the rest of the level. You can also restock your repair packs while you're there.

4. Upgrade Your Grip Gun Before Anything Else
Your secondary weapons run out of ammo and can even break. That means your Grip Gun is doing most of the work, especially early on. Put your upgrade components into your main weapon before anything else. A stronger Grip Gun makes every fight easier while your loadout is still being built up.
5. Grab the Free Mod in Sector One
Right after the globe room in Sector One, there's a blue chest with the Hardened Suit mod inside. It gives you a free 10% HP boost and costs you nothing. It's easy to walk past, so keep an eye out for it.

7. Hit Weak Points and Go for the Critical Shot
When a spot on an enemy flashes red, that's the weak point. Keep hitting it. Doing so fills up a stagger gauge under their health bar. Once it's full, the enemy falls down, and you can press the button for Critical Shot, which kills most enemies instantly.

If you get the Extended Breach mod, enemies stay hacked open 15% longer. That gives you more time to hit those weak points and land the kill.

8. Pick One Range and Stick With It
Close range gives you a 10% attack boost within 10 meters. Long range gives you 10% over 20 meters. Both are good, but mixing them wastes mod slots and gives you nothing. Pick one style and build around it from the start.
9. Don't Ignore Cabin or Your Defense Gadgets
The Decoy Generator sends every enemy, including bosses, chasing after nothing. Save it for when things go bad. Also check in with Cabin, the robot at your Shelter. He offers Training Simulations that pay out a lot of upgrade materials fast, and his stamp card rewards include some really useful mods and hacking upgrades.

That covers all the Pragmata tips before you buy that you need to get started. Once you get the hang of how everything connects, the game starts to feel a lot more manageable. Use Diana well, keep your gear upgraded, and the Moon station won't feel so scary anymore.
