Apparently, many websites are using slideshows for list-based articles. And although there is nothing wrong with slideshows when done right, most publishers use it to get more impressions per page, leading to more ads. This is a nightmare from the audience point of view.

You spend more time clicking “Next” and waiting than actually reading anything, Overall, slowing down your browsing speed but also disrupt the reading experience.

Usually, I jump to the next search result, if I see any slideshow on the website. But sometimes this is not an option. So if you are like me, who hate slide shows, luckily, there are a some tools that can quickly remove annoying slideshow and convert them into one easy-to-read page.

1. Deslide

You can use this web app to de-slide a slideshow and convert them in one page article.

See the following animated gif, on how it work.

Quickly Remove Slideshow From website

The website supports more than 2k sites including the official slideshare website as well. The author of the app, suggests creating a Bookmarklet of deslide, for one-click access.

So, to create a bookmark, go to deslide official page (link at the bottom of the article), and then drag and drop the ‘deslide’ Bookmarklet on the homepage on the browser bookmark area (press CTRL+B if not visible.) And that’s it. Next time you come across a slideshow simply click on the Deslide Bookmarklet, and it’ll launch all the slides in the new tab.

Or you can always do it old fashion way, i.e. copy-paste the URL of the website that has the slide show to the Deslide page.

2. PageZipper

As the name suggest PageZipper is a free bookmarklet which automatically merges all the “Next” pages into one. To Install PageZipper in your browser, simply drag this link: PageZipper into your bookmarks toolbar. Once done whenever you visit a website with slide show, simply scroll down to the bottom of a page, PageZipper automatically adds the next page to the bottom of the page. If you don’t see the bookmarks toolbar, go to View and select ‘Show Bookmarks Bar’

Following video explain how to use PageZipper in detail
