Remove MDM From iPhone and iPad

Step 1

Start by opening the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and go to General Settings. Once there, look for the Device Management settings. These settings will not be visible on a new iOS device, they only show up in the General Settings page once you have installed an app that uses an MDM profile.

Step 2

Once you click on Device Management, you should see one or several profiles under the heads Mobile Device Management or Profiles. Look for the one you have your doubts on. In our case, it was a parental control app – Qustodio.

Step 3

Once you locate the app profile that’s bugging you, tap on it to see more options. A new page will open where you should be able to see what all restrictions and permissions that MDM profile has and how it is managing your phone. This will help you confirm your doubts on the profile.

Step 4

Tap on Remove Management at the bottom of the screen. At this point, the device might ask you to key in 6 digit passcode of your iPhone or iPad if you have set up one.

Step 5

Put in the passcode if prompted and proceed to select Remove Management once again. You may or may not be asked to confirm your action. Once the MDM profile is removed you should be able to perform all actions as usual.

Remove MDM Profiles Locked by Passcode

Now, this would seem like a normal issue to some. But for those who are tired of trying their phone passcode in process of removing an MDM profile, this is the way out. If you are prompted for a passcode while you are trying to delete an MDM profile in iOS. It may be a PIN code that the app generated while installing the management profile. Depending on the kind of application this PIN might have not been shared with you on your phone. For instance, some parental control apps while installing the MDM profile will send you a four-digit code on your email. So if you are surprised by a passcode prompt, quickly check your email. There must be a PIN that you might have received while installing the app.

Remove MDM profiles installed by your School or Companies

If you have a school iPad or a company iPhone which by default has an MDM profile built it, then the above tricks won’t work for you. Such profiles are set to manage or restrict your device activity and cannot be bypassed. You might see these profiles installing while you activate the device for the first time and there’s no ‘skip’ button. Most of these MDM profiles will restrict iOS usage like iTunes etc, depending on what institution or company it belongs to.

Well, these management profiles are set there for a reason and the employers don’t really want you to fiddle with the device settings. We don’t promote that either, but what if you are not working for that company anymore and you own the device now?

iActivate MDM bypass tool can help you to bypass MDM profiles on school iPad or company iPhone. You can remove the management profiles, remove all restrictions imposed by such profiles and use all features of your device. In short, it will be as good as new. To get started, simply download the tool on your Mac or PC and connect your iPhone or iPad via lightning cable to perform the MDM removal action.

One caveat though, iActivate is not free and you will have to pay $45 to use it. There is no free trial either. Since we didn’t have any device to test this service on, we can’t vouch if ‘iActivate is legit‘. Use your best judgment before buying this service. Having said that, once the payment process is complete they add your serial number or device IMEI in their MDM database. That’s it, you are good to go. Download the software and follow the instructions to set your device free.
