How to Reply To Notifications on Amazfit Pace/Verge/Stratos

by Pratik

The Amazfit watches are based on Android OS. This not only lets you sideload and install WearOS apps on the device but you can also tweak and get Reply to Notifications. In my opinion, this is one of the most convenient features to have on a smartwatch. It eliminates the habit of frequently pulling out your smartphone from the pocket. With that said, let’s see how to reply to notifications on the Amazfit watches.

This method only works on the Amazfit Pace, Amazfit Verge and Amazfit Stratos due to Bluetooth and storage access. If any of the future releases have these permissions, the AmazMod should work on it as well.

Before we begin the process, you would need a laptop, ADB, and the Amazfit watch itself. Do note that, this method would provide message templates on the watch. You won’t be able to type your replies on the watch as the keyboard is not supported on any of the Amazfit watches.

1. First, we need to install the AmazMod APK on the watch. You can either directly install the AmazMod services by using ADB or use the Windows AmazMod Installer Utility. I would recommend the latter one as it automates the process of downloading and installing the APK on the watch.

Once you have downloaded the AmazMod Installer on your laptop, connect your watch to the computer via the official charger. Next, open the app and follow the on-screen instructions. Do not change the default options and click on Next.

2. Next, install the AmazMod companion app on your Android phone. This is the app that will let you configure “Reply to Notifications” and even help you manage the AmazMod services on the watch. After the AmazMod installation on both the watch and phone, restart the devices. Post restart, the AmazMod companion app should be able to connect to the AmazMod services app on the watch.

3. In the AmazMod Android app, head over to the Settings menu from the navigation drawer. On the Settings menu, turn on “Custom UI Notifications”. This will enable a bunch of replies to the notification on the watch.

In order to add your own message templates, scroll down the Settings menu and navigate to the “Notification replies” option. Tap on it and add your own custom replies. For instance, I have added a couple of replies as you can see below.

After adding the message templates, we need to sync these changes to the watch. To do that, hit the sync icon at the top-right corner on the Settings page.sync-settings-amazmod-service

4. Now, that we have configured replies to the notification, we would need to disable push notifications in the official Amazfit app. The reason being, if it’s enabled, you will get the same notifications twice. Once from the Amazfit app and the other one from the AmazMod app.

This is how the reply to notification works on the Amazfit Pace. Moreover, the Amazfit Pace supports smileys as well. So, you can include smileys in your message templates.

The Amazfit Pace can display smileys, so you can also add smileys to your custom replies.

Final Words

The AmazMod service adds a whole new value to the Amazfit watches. The only downside to this mod is battery drainage. I have been using the AmazMod service on the Amazfit Pace for a while and the battery tends to drain 15-20% faster.
