Resident Evil Requiem All Endings and How to Get Them

Resident Evil Requiem has two different endings that change based on one final decision you make near the end of the game. Your choice determines whether Leon survives and if you fight the final boss. One ending is clearly better than the other, and the game makes it pretty obvious which path you should take. Here’s how to unlock both endings in Resident Evil Requiem and what happens in each one.

WARNING – SPOILERS AHEAD!

How to Get Both Endings

Near the end of the game, Grace and Leon reach a computer terminal inside the ARK facility. The screen asks you to make a choice about Elpis, the mysterious item everyone has been searching for throughout the story. You get two options:

  • Release Elpis – This triggers the good ending where Leon survives and you fight the final boss.
  • Destroy Elpis – This triggers the bad ending where Leon dies and the game ends quickly.

The choice appears after Grace discovers video files showing that Ozwell Spencer, the founder of Umbrella Corporation, actually created Elpis as a cure for viruses instead of a weapon. Once you understand this, the right choice becomes clear.

Release Elpis Ending (Good Ending)

Choosing to release Elpis reveals that it’s an antiviral medicine created by Spencer before he died. This medicine can cure people infected with the T-virus and other biological weapons.

Zeno, one of the villains working for a group called The Connections, thinks Elpis will make him more powerful. He injects himself with it right away. The medicine actually removes his superhuman abilities instead of boosting them. Victor Gideon shows up without his arms and kills Zeno immediately.

Grace uses Elpis to cure Leon’s T-virus infection just in time for the final boss fight. Victor transforms into a giant monster similar to Nemesis from Resident Evil 3. The fight has two phases where you need to shoot weak spots on his body while dodging his attacks.

After beating Victor, the ARK facility starts falling apart. Leon and Grace think they’re going to die, but the BSAA rescue team arrives and pulls them out through the roof. Leon tells his handler Sherry Birkin that he has a dose of Elpis for her since she’s also infected. Grace worries about Emily, the young girl who turned into a monster earlier in the game. Leon reveals that Emily might still be alive because he avoided hitting her vital organs when he shot her.

Destroy Elpis Ending (Bad Ending)

If you choose to destroy Elpis, the ARK facility starts collapsing immediately. Leon helps Grace reach a higher platform so she can escape. Zeno, who still has his powers in this ending, easily beats Leon in a fight and shoots him in the head. Leon dies.

Grace watches as Zeno falls into the collapsing facility. She rides an elevator to the surface where a rescue team finds her. The ending stops here with no additional scenes or explanations. The game gives you the option to reload your save and pick the other choice right away since this ending is clearly not the intended one.

The good ending is the canon version of events and unlocks all the bonus content. Always choose Release Elpis unless you specifically want to see the bad ending out of curiosity.
