Resident Evil Requiem has a pretty stacked roster of characters. You will meet new faces, see some returning favorites, and get a clear idea of who matters to the story. In this guide, I will break down all the characters in Resident Evil Requiem.

Main Playable Characters in Resident Evil Requiem
These are the two characters you actually get to control in Resident Evil Requiem. They both have very different gameplay styles, which keeps things fresh as you switch between them.
Grace Ashcroft
She is the new face of the series and one of the two main playable characters. Grace Ashcroft is an FBI intelligence analyst, not a trained soldier. Her sections of the game are more about sneaking, solving puzzles, and making decisions with very limited resources.

Her gameplay is classic survival horror. It is tense, careful, and resource-tight. Grace’s personal story is deeply connected to her mother, Alyssa Ashcroft, who survived the original Raccoon City incident. That family connection gives her story a lot of emotional weight. Grace is voiced in English by Angela Sant’Albano, who also served as her face and motion capture model.
Leon S. Kennedy
If you’ve played the series before, then Leon needs no introduction. He first appeared in Resident Evil 2 (1998) and has been a fan favorite ever since. In Resident Evil Requiem, he’s a seasoned federal agent working for the D.S.O. (a counterterrorism unit under the U.S. President).

Leon’s gameplay is the more action-focused side of the game. He carries firearms, uses a hatchet, throws melee attacks, parries enemy moves, and can even turn enemy weapons against them. His story in Requiem is about digging up the truth behind Raccoon City, an event that has followed him for 30 years. He is dispatched to the Wrenwood Hotel after a police officer goes missing there.
Leon is voiced in English by Nick Apostolides, who has been playing the character since the Resident Evil 2 Remake.
Supporting Characters in Resident Evil Requiem
These characters aren’t playable, but they play a big role in shaping the story around Grace and Leon.
Alyssa Ashcroft
She is Grace’s mother and a survivor of the Raccoon City outbreak. She originally appeared back in Resident Evil Outbreak (2004), where she was a playable character.

In Requiem, she’s a strong-willed reporter who spent years chasing the truth about Umbrella. Her story in Requiem ends tragically. She’s murdered at the Wrenwood Hotel, which is what kicks off the whole investigation. She’s voiced in English by Jane Perry.
Victor Gideon
Victor Gideon is the main antagonist of Resident Evil Requiem. He’s a scientist whose research is directly responsible for the current outbreak. His goal is to use Grace’s blood to free something called Elpis. It’s a mysterious entity tied to the core plot.

He’s the one who kidnaps Grace, which immediately makes him the most dangerous threat in the game. He’s voiced in English by Antony Byrne.
Zeno
Zeno is a high-ranking member of a crime syndicate called The Connections. This group is directly responsible for funding Victor Gideon’s research. So, without Zeno and his organization, the whole Elpis situation never happens in the first place.

The goal behind all that funding was to unlock Elpis — a virus reportedly created by Oswell E. Spencer with the goal of controlling human consciousness. He’s voiced in English by Craig Burnatowski.
Emily
This grey haired girl is a clone created by The Connections as part of their research into unlocking Elpis. She’s one of the most heartbreaking characters in the game. The experiments carried out on her left her blind, and Grace finds her trapped inside the isolation ward of Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center.

Despite everything she went through, Emily’s story has one of the more hopeful endings in Requiem. After everything settles, Grace adopts her, which gives both characters a meaningful conclusion to their arcs. She’s voiced in English by Emma Rose Creaner.
Sherry Birkin
Sherry Birkin is another returning character from the Resident Evil series. She first appeared in Resident Evil 2 as a child during the Raccoon City outbreak. She’s voiced in English by Eden Riegel.

Resident Evil Requiem has a strong cast that blends old and new really well. If you’re a longtime fan, you’ll appreciate seeing familiar faces like Leon and Sherry. If you’re new to the series, characters like Grace and Emily give you a fresh entry point without needing to know all the history upfront. Either way, the characters in Resident Evil Requiem and their different roles make this one of the most interesting entries in the franchise in a long time.
