The Animal Update (v1.04.0) in Grow a Garden added a brand-new pet system to the game. Now, you can hatch animals from eggs and let them roam your garden, each one helping you in different ways. Some dig up seeds, others water plants, and a few even freeze fruit for better value.
This guide breaks down everything you need to know — from the types of eggs to where to find them, how long they take to hatch, and what each pet actually does.

Where to Get Pet Eggs in Grow a Garden?
To get started with pets, head to the Pet Egg Stand. It’s near the Gear Shop. Look for Raphael, who runs the stall under the yellow canopy. Eggs appear randomly, and the shop refreshes every 15 minutes. So if you don’t see the egg you want, check back later. There are six types of eggs, each with different costs, chances to appear, and hatch times.

How to Hatch Eggs in Grow a Garden?
Once you buy an egg, place it in your garden just like a seed. You can hatch up to three eggs at once. Wait for the hatch time to finish, then interact with the egg to get your new pet. Here is the step by step process:
- Place the egg in your Garden.
- Get close to it and press E or interact with it.
- It will show a timer on top and once the timer goes to 0 the egg will start shaking.
- After the shaking stops, the egg will hatch automatically.

How to Use and Level Up Pets in Grow a Garden
You can only have three pets active in your garden at once. They will wander around and use their traits automatically. To keep them growing and make their traits stronger:
Feed Them
- Hold a fruit in your hand.
- Click on your pet, and it will show three options: view, pick and feed.
- Select the feed option, and it will automatically feed the pet.
- Remember to keep their hunger bar full so they can earn XP; even when you’re offline, they stop leveling if their hunger hits 0.

Pick Them Up
- This returns the pet to your inventory. Useful if you want to change which pets are active.
View Stats
- Check a pet’s name, age, weight, hunger, and skill details.
- As pets grow, skill cooldowns get shorter and effects get stronger.
Pets are a fun and helpful part of Grow a Garden. They’re more than just decoration — they can make a real difference in how fast your plants grow and how much money you make. With different traits, hatch times, and rarities, there’s something for everyone, whether you just started or have a massive garden. Try out different combinations and keep checking the egg shop for rare finds.
