King of Heroes V2 is one of the most anticipated additions in the latest Sailor Piece update, and if you were already a fan of the original King of Heroes melee, this is the upgrade you have been waiting for. The full route to unlock it is more involved than just buying it from an NPC, though. This guide covers the complete King of Heroes V2 route in Sailor Piece from start to finish, so you know exactly what to do every step of the way.

How to Get King of Heroes V2 in Sailor Piece

King of Heroes V2, also known as the Gilgamesh V2 melee, is the upgraded version of the original King of Heroes. It is built on the same Gilgamesh theme that already made the original spec popular, but the V2 version brings significantly more serious damage and a fully unlockable F move through the mastery system.

To get this new melee, there is this one most important thing to know before you begin. You cannot skip the original King of Heroes. The base King of Heroes melee is a hard requirement to even access the V2 upgrade.

If you already have the original King of Heroes, you are good to go straight to Hero Kingdom and start working on V2. If you do not have it yet, you need to unlock the original first before any of this applies to you.

Step 1: Start at Hero Kingdom Island in Sea 2

Once you have the original King of Heroes, travel to Hero Kingdom Island, which is the new island added in Sea 2 for this update. This is where the entire King of Heroes V2 route takes place.

On the island, look for the King of Heroes V2 NPC. This is the NPC where you buy the melee once you have all the required materials. Talk to them when you arrive and check what you need to bring before you start farming.

Step 2: Farm the Materials

Getting the base V2 melee requires four materials on top of already having the original King of Heroes:

  • 15x Lapis Cores - This is the main material you need to grind for. Lapis Cores drop from the King of Heroes V2 world boss on Hero Kingdom.
  • 5x Calamity Seals - These are late-game shared materials that you may already have saved if you have been playing for a while.
  • 1x Million Gems - This is the currency cost for purchasing the base melee from the NPC. Make sure you have this ready before you try to unlock V2.
  • Original King of Heroes Melee - Already covered above, but it is part of the NPC's requirements, so have it equipped or in your possession.

The King of Heroes V2 World Boss

The King of Heroes V2 world boss on Hero Kingdom is the most important farm in this entire route. It is the source of nearly every material you need for both the base melee and the mastery.

The boss spawns every 5 minutes, which means there is a consistent and regular window to farm it. The good news is that Lapis Cores and Gate Fragments are both guaranteed drops from this boss. Every single kill gives you real progress on at least one of those materials.

How to Unlock King of Heroes V2 F Move Mastery

After you unlock the base King of Heroes V2, the F move mastery becomes your next goal. It gives you 30% extra damage from the mastery, which is too significant to ignore if you plan on actually using this melee.

The mastery has its own set of requirements, and some of them stack on top of what you already farmed for the base melee. Here is everything you need:

  • King Clan - This is the new melee clan added in this update.
  • King of Heroes V2 - You need the base melee already unlocked before the mastery becomes accessible.
  • 10 Million Gems
  • 25x Gate Fragments - Gate Fragments are a guaranteed drop from the King of Heroes V2 world boss, so you collect these naturally while farming Lapis Cores.
  • 15x Lapis Cores - Yes, this is on top of the 15 you already used for the base melee. This means you need 30x Lapis Cores total if you want to fully complete King of Heroes V2. Do not stop farming them after you unlock the base version.
  • 1x Sword of Rupture - This is also a drop from the King of Heroes V2 world boss, but it is a rare drop unlike the guaranteed Lapis Cores and Gate Fragments. This is most likely going to be the longest part of the mastery grind, so do not get discouraged if it takes multiple boss kills to get one.

If you were already a King of Heroes or Gilgamesh melee fighting style user before this Sailor Piece update, this is the most natural next step for your build and it is worth going all the way to the full mastery. Good luck grinding!
