A few weeks ago, we saw leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, giving us a rough idea of what the smartphone would look like. Now, the folks at The Tech Outlook have revealed promo materials that disclose some key specs and features, including details about software updates.

According to these promo images, Samsung is promising 6 years of major Android updates (with One UI) and 6 years of security patches. In comparison, last year’s Galaxy A15 5G offered 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security patches. If the leaked details are accurate, this would set a new standard for its price range and could become a strong selling point compared to similar-priced competitors.

As for the processor, depending on the region, you’ll either get the Exynos 1330 or the Dimensity 6300 chipset, along with 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. It’s also expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery.

Other specs revealed in the leak include:

  • 6.7-inch FHD+ (1080×2340) LCD screen
  • 90Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop notch
  • 0.5mm thinner than the previous model
  • Estimated weight: 192g or 200g
  • Available in three colors: light green, blue-black, and gold

As for the launch date, you can expect the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G to drop by the end of September in time for the holiday season.
